What Should I Use the New Python MKII For?

Well, i do have Corvette/Conda as large combat ships and usually Krait mk2 as medium combat ship.
Never used a FDL, but i did used a Mamba occasionally as a Torpedo Troll Bomber (2x seekers, 1 huge corrosive MC, 2x large feedback cascade torp launchers) - trolling shield tanks, FDL or other Mamba's included.

So i may eventually be tempted to try a P2 as medium combat ship since it would vastly outperform the Krait mk2, but i would sort of miss the SLF which really adds to my PVE experience

The Python Mk II has proven very versatile for me. I’ve built 4 of them so far.

One neat trick that doctors hate is to use a corrosive pacifier in the ventral large along with PAs in the top center large and the mediums as a single trigger. The pacifier will trigger corrosive’s damage bonus against hulls for the PAs (the AP bonus doesn’t matter) and will hit the same target as the PAs thanks to the spread. I threw in a drag pacifier on the same trigger to make further shots easier, plus an undersized short range vent beam so I’m not draining WEP too much. If you like mostly single trigger builds then this will work for you. It hits really hard, too, as long as you can make your shots. https://s.orbis.zone/qwyG

Two High Yield Shell OC fixed cannons in the top and bottom center larges also works surprisingly well in CZ for plant kills.

For sustainability on the 6a distributor, I’ve done better putting things like efficient beams and rapid fire pulses on one side’s large and medium rather than trying to use the top lateral larges together. It does make the builds asymmetrical which might trigger you, but it also means you can put something kinetic (multis, frags) in the other side’s large/medium for good AP and versatility.

Versatile as in "i have 4 combat Pythons mk2 with various combat builds" ? 😂

Versatile for me is the Krait mk2 or the Python - which i can use for trade, mining, combat or exploration
Versatile as in combat builds. It’s very Chieftain-like given the number of hardpoints vs the PD. With 4 large hardpoints you can use all kinds of weapons without having to worry about AP issues. Only the two outer top larges aren’t great for most fixed weapons, although pacifiers and frags work fine fixed thanks to their shot spread.
