She's a beauty! (New ship revealed--Mandalay)

Because of this:
It was a business agreement. FD needed the money right then and there, offered this deal for our help. As a limited one time only offer.

Whether there are now people who'd buy it is totally irrelevant. In essence, it comes down to this:

All those things you say have absolutely no connection with this:

And they are keeping to their side of this business deal we made.
You say that, and while I don't disagree with you, Frontier's attitude has changed, I keep bringing this up (and will keep bringing it up).
Here's an example, from the recent Frontier Unlocked

I can see everyone putting it all in the chat excellent uh we're going to talk a little bit about Planet zoo console so we have seen all of the messages people have been asking and they would like the pre-order bundle or the bundle that came with the pre-orders uh and they are now going to be available as a DLC so that

So this idea that Frontier will honour previous agreements and keep things exclusive is rubbish now. Frontier have literally nullified any reason to pre-order anything they intend to make and sell in future. The whole point of pre-order exclusives is to incentivise you to buy it before it is released and thus offer you exclusive items you won't get once it has released. This is where the Cobra mkIV sits. There is NO reason it can't be now sold in the store for arx. Anyone still saying it's an exclusive item is hanging on to some sort of out-of-date entitlement that is now just meaningless.

And to Doctor Dread, whom I quoted, please do not think I am picking on you specifically, I am not, I am just countering why the Cobra mkIV can't be sold in the store, when it absolutely can be, if Frontier choose to do it. (I also have no idea how everyone else missed the significance of pre-order thing in the livestream).

No, it is not. They are keeping their side of the financial deal we made.

Do I understand you correctly?
You don't want other people to support this project ?
I just don't quite understand the resonance of the people who bought this ship. Why they don't want someone else to buy this ship for real money. What's the point?

P.S. And pay attention to your screenshot. You have the words Elite Dangerous: Horizon at the beginning.

If you haven't noticed now Elite Dangerous: Odyssey, and these rules may not apply to this - another game.

You keep calling this a business/financial deal. Where's the contract? Or at least Terms & Conditions?
Oh right, there is none, because what FDev said in that post isn't legally binding, just like what they said about "cosmetic-only" ARX.

I have the Cobra due to LEP, I never really liked it that much, but that's no reason to keep it locked away. I don't think it should be sold for ARX (no ship should be), if FDev really wants to - they can limit it to a rep/rank/questline/tech broker unlock, but frankly I'd rather it be available to everyone.

May I ask what?
I believe that small and most medium sized ships are passable ships. Yes you can fly them until they evolve, then they go into storage.
There is also a fan option, but this is a personal preference and can not be considered.

What are these Odyssey missions ? I did all the Odyssey missions on Anaconda. And the docking computer lands the Anaconda even in the blue zone.
The medium ships are ultimately the mainstay.
Large ships are effectively locked out of entire star systems if there's only an outpost available.
As such the only large ship I use on a regular basis is the T9.
Whilst the view that small ships were just a stepping stones might have had some merit in Horizons, Odyssey breathed new life into the type with both settlements and exobiology.
Yes they can be done in an SRV from a medium but it becomes a consequential decision as you are choosing to give up on certain opportunities in the process.

+1

But I kind of think that this ship was given to people for supporting the release of the game, so why not give it to people who want to support the game on its 10th anniversary ?

After all ARXs are given for actions in the game and it will be a kind of reward for the game.

I'm not sure what you mean.
If big ships would cost less, insurance would cost less or it would be easier to engineer it completely, I would admit that big ships are not the best in the game.

People like to play for fun too, not only for maximize everything you can, becaus it often is the best way to be bored, and IIRC you said in this forum some time ago that you have nothing to do in this game.

The financial deal was for the DLC. The MkIV was a bonus, it's described right there as a 'Thank You', not a core component of the DLC you paid for.

To vaguely get back on-topic, if the Mandalay or any of the new ships were revealed as a timed-exclusive only for Arx, never to be available again, then there would be a lot more outcry over the FOMO business model. If it isn't right now, then it wasn't right then.

But, back on track...
I realized that Mandalay is a snake name, yes, but it comes directly from the city in Myanmar/Birma. I hope it is god sign to be great explorators ship :) I am really curious about the canopy, and how it will work for me. I hope to more information about optionals soon.

I need the context of that sentence, I don't remember very well what I was writing about.
Just now I closed the AXCZ zone to get my ARXs.
Although I understand people who stop at medium ships, they are easier to get, easier to engineer and easier to play.

I don't think so someone means stop... do you assume that bigger ship in this game is equal to be better player? :)
I don't know how we even went to this idea in the topic about new exploration ship...

I just wrote that a big ship is harder to get and harder to play on.
After all, you can land a small ship easier than you can pick a place for a big one.
