Engineers Jameson Crash Site

Hi folks.

I arrived at Jameson Crash Site to scan for encoded materials. There seems to be nothing there. The only white dot on the rader is my ship. Am I doing something wrong?

You're sure you're at the right place? If you scan the body with the DSS, there should be a POI, and in that POI should be a very obvious crashed Cobra surrounded by a bit of litter and four scanable data ports.

As you can see in the screenshot I'm at Jameson Crash Site. If there were scannabel data points they would be seen as a white dot on the radar right?

Not sure if there's are dedicated bindings for the SRV (as I can't seem to find them) but there are for the ship:

Binding those should let you zoom the scanner.

I went back to the crashed cobra last night.... i had already been once before way back in the day but i wanted to get out of my SRV and get up close and personal with it.

I have to admit it was with a touch of disappointment that

1) there was no corpse in the seat, I was hoping my torch would pick something up and..........

2) even that vintage old cobra appears to have an (albeit very low detail ) exact replica cockpit to the current ship .

I guess i was hoping for some 1980s style plastic "fake" leather seats, a cigarette lighter in the dash, and some nice brown carpet on the floor with tasteful wooden cladding on the walls ....... I couldn't even see the remains of a larva lamp... not retro at all! :D

on the bright side i got plenty of data out of it.

His body was never found, after 150 years it wouldn't look good anyway :ROFLMAO:

I've seen the new "map" of where the Comms Control beacons are relative to the Cobra, but now I can't find it. I mainly want to know the best position to scan all the Comms Controls quickly (it used to be easy when there were only four). Does anyone have a linky? Thanks in advance.

You don't need an srv, just a small ship like a dbx. Nose facing the ground, using lateral thrusters to move between beacons.
If you relog, the ship spawns at the same spot.

As far as I know many things in the game are not procedurally generated but added by hand.
But I could never understand why almost all players know about Sotis, Cobra, etc. and it is not fixed. Why is it made so that people can farm in these points ...
I don't understand.

There is nothing to fix.
You won't understand.

1. At one time you could find 3 triple points of minerals in the rings and many minerals can be mined there. But then that was fixed, I remember it well.

2. If you fly far (on the map galaxy) to the left down from the bubble, there were some growths on the 2-3 nearest planets, you landed there and without problems filled your pockets with raw materials of level 5. As far as I know this has been fixed too.

3. Settlements could be relogged and endlessly farming the settlement. Now it is necessary to fly at least 70 km to there again appeared materials.

There are many such examples.

These the old crystal shard sites? I only went to them once years ago. Have they been removed now?

I don't really know. I also a long time ago, I've got all the raw materials of the 4th grade up there and I still have plenty of it.
I remember that in those days gankers often flew there, they needed premium charges very often ;)
