This just in from Zyloh on Spectrum: "We are not planning to make an in-game Bengal tour available - the messaging is referencing the venue theme/decor. Sorry!"

Not sure how that meshes with: "aboard an active duty RSI Bengal" and "invites you step into its iconic vessel in-person"

Basically more horse manure marketing from CIG.

Say one thing, deliver another.
Well, making venue props should be easy even for CIG. If CIG wants to call those “iconic”; “active duty” or whatever doesn’t matter. Let cosplayers and flavor fans have their fun with props… god knows there is little else in the game to have fun with anyways.

stares at the above message from Zyloh for far too long

There are literally no words I can use to accurately describe the utter contempt I feel towards the upper level management of a project that continues to claim that they are being crowdfunded.

  • A new light system is coming. That means redoing most of the lights...

Semi-confirmation of the above?

GI [Global Illumination] will be the first feature that uses ray-tracing, so you're not likely to see one without the other. We're currently focused on getting it turned on and ironed out in the SQ42 branch, once we focus on PU there will be additional problems to solve (it currently can't see planet surfaces, and won't play well with vegetation for instance).

(I didn't mention in the summary but it was said to be a SQ42-first deployment etc)

That is sadly a common misconception. The "record" is grossly innacurate as Star Citizen released officially as Early Access around 2016 and thereby ceased to be fully crowdfunded at that time.

Patch maturing nicely...

Freight Elevators are going to break en masse.

Freight Elevators at outposts are breaking. You can tell a freight elevator is broken, if when you access the terminal, it endlessly buffers saying "loading contents" and never actually lets you into the inventory. This issue has hit the gold mining outposts first because of the high traffic, but it's beginning to spread to other outposts. I visited a research outpost today that had two of the three freight elevators broken. It may not be universal across servers, but I had much difficulty finding a server where the gold mining outpost had working freight elevators.

I don't know how fast this issue will spread, because I don't know the underlying cause. I suspect it has to do with cargo boxes sticking around after already being submitting. Many times I have opened a closed freight to see random boxes that have to be moved, and I've even seen boxes that I personally submitted in a mission still there when I call the elevator again. Combine that with the issues of cargo boxes glitching through the ground/floor and it's easy for me to see how the cargo elevators might be breaking.

I don't think this issue will resolve itself on its own. The freight elevators will probably remain broken until some kind of server reset, and the issue will continue to pop up until the the underlying cause has been dealt with. whatever that may be. Honestly, this makes me wary of doing cargo missions, because eventually I'll get a set of missions that I can't finish because all the cargo elevators at the origin or destination will be broken and I'll have to take the reputation penalty.
