Frontier, please tell us if the Panther Clipper will ever leave spacedock

What other ships aside from the Annie were supposed to have that landing dock?
It was supposed to be a small ship hangar from the start. Fighters were only invented when that plan fell though so every ship that could have a hangar should have that.

They seem to be releasing ships from the manufacturers that aren't pegged to the factions. So the Clipper, which I would love to see, should also come out along side a Core Dynamics ship to balance it out. That way every manufacturer gets a new ship.

Easy way to balance out a Panther Clipper would be it has to take up a parking orbit OUTSIDE the station. And all that cargo space is accessible via the straw of a singular medium sized pad. Plus the ship itself requiring tritium to make jumps. It would still have quite a bit of use with those restrictions, since it would be a personal asset only and thus not displayed on the map for other users. Useful for those day trading out of outposts or the miner that is looking to spend most of the day out on the belts and then make hops to where they can sell. Because at that point it is a diet version of a fleet carrier without the additional support functions and a much abbreviated total cargo space. And if the server doesn't have to keep track of it for other users... hello being able to make jumps within the space of a minute instead of fifteen plus.

Don't remember where I got this but...

Panther clipper LX, ship that got under the rug, and never came out since. Its supposed biggest cargo capacity cames out also with other problem, too much module space, so it would be too overpowered in certain areas and Fdevs clearly had no idea how they might try balance ship (atleast when it was teased - so at very early stages of game).... and given its size, flying it around surely would make look T-9 like a nible, fast ship, and turing it at supercurz would take over minute to make 90 degree turn and it would be so heavy that jump range would be lower than that of T9... so yeah, I recon only about 1% of cmdrs would actually enjoy flying such brick (probly because mostly of nostalgia from older games), while rest of us probly would only use it for FC refuelling, becasue it would be too slow and bulky to have any chance to compete with other cargo haulers, in terms of speed and efficenty, and again, apart of masochists, almost no one would really enjoy flying it around, due of its near 0 mobility stat, and being slow enough that even CobraIV would be flying backwards faster than this thing would boost in straight line.

Given all that, I am not suprised that ship never came out, and might never will.

Most important is to fill gaps in the available ships. The manufacturer is less important. For example we don't need 2 fighters that are basically the same with different aesthetics.

The way to deal with that is different loadouts. One ship with plasma/rail, one ship with frags, one ship with laser/multicannon/cannon, and you already have 3 ships that work differently.

Couldn't they have a new module slot type? Like the combat one that only lets you put on reinforcements or the transport one that is the only one that can support Luxury Class?
I don't think this should be a blocker anymore. Perhaps back then it was limited this way and FDEV just doesn't dig up mothballed projects
