Bought On Xbox Series X yesterday, Gold Cobra Error every few minutes

I bought the game yesterday on the Xbox Store. When I am able to login, I get the Gold Cobra Error every few minutes and the game freezes. I did a diagonostic in Xbox and Bill Gates told me my internet and connection is smoking fast, good to go. I also speed test via the Xbox console and I'm at 300mb upload and 500mb download per sec. Thus, I shouldn't be getting disconnected. I have not tweaked any setting in my console, I don't get disconnected from any other games nor do I have any internet issues at all. Just with this game. I filed a report inside of the game and I see that others are also having this issue. This has to be on Frontier's side.

I'm on Elite:Dangerous Odyssey Compatibility Update (3.8.14.0), FID: b3qz902 version.

I understand that they're not supporting or updating the game any longer, but if they're going to STILL allow sales of the game on Xbox, it at LEAST needs to be playable. I feel like I got ripped off.
There's a big difference between "being ripped off", and "having technical issues". The console has nothing on it to confirm a good route to Frontier's servers. It only checks the connection to Microsoft's servers.

If the minimal testing at the console level checks out, it's time to contact Frontier. They are still supporting ED on consoles. The only thing that's stopped is development. Go here for more information and technical support: ED connection errors

If you get a resolution to this issue I hope you’ll post it. I’ve been having this problem for months. I have to exit the game and restart it every time I want to jump or enter supercruise and yet I still play. Go figure.
The same page should be a good starting point for you as well.

Seems like you have been ripped off. I feel your pain, My friends and me played this wonderful game for years on Xbox, tis a sad sad story whats happened to it.
Nothing "happened to it", development just stopped. It's the same game it was before Odyssey. Nothing changed, so no sad stories based on reality.

I bought EDC a few days ago on Xbox X. Not had one issue with it. With far slower speeds. I do hope you get sorted. I can't afford the Spec'd PC at the moment so I'm just gonna spend a year or two on console and, if as I'm expecting I become absorbed. I'll then make it a priority for the PC.

A page filled to the brim with "it's not our fault our servers don't work, it's all your routers fault for not being able to connect" and it's . I have 0 problems with any other game, but now all of a sudden this one game can't connect to anything? As far as I'm concerned this guy should ask for his money back and I'm going to be doing the same as I doubt very much Frontier is going to do anything about this game-breaking bug/glitch and just stole our money

stole your money?

calm down there, cowboy. most of us are not having this issue. so, it is most likely, something on your end.

Development being stopped on Xbox is a 'happening' in my view which is a valid one whether or not you agree with. I also feel personally 'sad' that a wonderful game that three other friends and me used to regularly play together becoming stagnated is also valid whether or not you agree. I was trying to make the OP feel that he/she is not alone and in doing so I was trying to make 'em feel better.

I don't disagree with you at all. This was a very disappointing decision, but it was necessary. My reply was mostly for the OP's second post..They appeared to believe that Frontier doesn't support ED on console any more. I clarified that they do.

A new/faster router became available at my ISP. Installed it today and that seems to have fixed my Gold Cobra, etc. server connection issue. I can now jump again and land on planets, connect to mission servers, etc. Strange how it used to run fine on the older router then stopped. Hope that isn’t going to happen with the new one. Good to be back. Hope this helps someone.

Not quite right. They're still maintaining the legacy servers, it's just that it isn't updated with all the cool new stuff in odyssey, but here, have a link to the error codes, see what works for ya

I've had this issue for months. I would love to play (I've logged literally hundreds of hours) but I crash to a variety of error messages every single time I drop out of Hyper. It sometimes takes upwards of an hour to finally be able to relog. The moment I drop out Hyper ... I immediately crash again.

I have not been able to troubleshoot a solution. The many error codes I receive appear to be random and unconnected to my issue. The problem is definitely NOT on my end. My internet is fast and stable and have a new gen router. So many different people are having the exact issue that began at the exact same time. Frontier is clearly completely happy to let the game die on Xbox.

It is incredibly frustrating to be unable to enjoy this game I love. I absolutely would feel ripped off if I recently purchased the game I couldn't play.
