BDSSE - smell the realism
What happened to gravity?
Half way through that fall I was expecting the legs to bend and absorb the shock when it finally lands before blowing up. Even that was too much to hope for.

Edit:
Concord had $200mil budget, 8 years of development and lasted 2 weeks. They should have used Star Citizen's school of game development, publishers ruins everything.

Honestly, the idea of having a mechanical exoskeleton is to be able to perform heavy mechanical tasks that a human being obviously can't do by himself. Because of that need, you have to create a big, heavy, big armature, with big servomotors, etc.

Well, in SC they create a big, heavy, slow exoskeleton, and now it turns out that it has a magic tractor beam to perform the heavy mechanical tasks... why such a heavy exoskeleton if it is not needed for the task of moving heavy weights?

The only thing that seems to matter in SC is to present things that come out in Star Wars, in Alien, in Galactica, etc. to be the coolest in the world without any sense, without any playable need, without any lore background, without any scientific logic... and the citizens continue swallowing and applauding.

It's ridiculous that all the wonderful SC gameplay mechanics that have been promised over the last 12 years, such as repair, salvage, loading and unloading, harvesting, medicine, etc. end up being the push of a button or a magic bean coming into play.

In the end we will see who is going to be “the ocean 1 cm deep”.

That's the thing I don't understand. All these random things nobody asked for CIG keeps adding could only be done using resources pulled from something else. For some reason the citizens never seem to notice this and simply focus on the new bling. Kind of like kids being distracted by a new brightly colored toy.

Because light has mass and that super duper beam is super duper heavy and you need the exo thing to hold it! You clearly do not understand neither physics nor AAAAA game development!

anybody else here have heard or tried this game?

Tried the demo. Got a very definite "Line of Defense" vibe to it 😋 Not "huge" at all though (in the non geographical sense at least). And indeed lots of junk. Still, manages to feel better than SC.

Berks had similar issues - I think it was the same ship. Works much better with larger ships & smaller boxes. ofc the way to 'fix' it is to make it less realistic - which will then be hated 🤷‍♀️

It seems they have the artists and the devs able to create assets, but no one able to integrate those in a working game engine able to cope with the scale they want to do things
Also, having a constant flow of cash (700+ millions in the last 10-12 years, right?) and no deadline to deliver a working game (something a publisher will enforce) means they can drag the things like forever.

And having Mr Roberts at the helm of this project is like having the demand meeting the supply where he's getting real money for shiny colored glass beads, nice looking but totally useless

The game looks like it uses a very nice engine to run the game, but the devs making the game, don't seem to have the same skills.
And still a better, more sensible game, than SC and for how much less than 600 million bucks and 10 years?

the engine is unreal engine 5. I am a beginner but I have made a better first and thirst person camera movement than theirs.
Let them inspire you to release that stuff! You could be the next CR! Sorry! I didnt mean that..Im sure yours is closer to completion than SC.
