So you haven't bought a P2 or T8 prebuilt?Haven't seen the famous "I win" button either yet. Where is it?
Apparently there is a big "I WON!" button in the middle of the screen whenever you climb into the cockpit...

And it often comes from a “need” to do things in the most efficient way possible, ignoring the gameplay loops designed my the Devs.

Maybe ask the guy that asked for grind? I'm the one that would prefer creative gameplay.Define grind? It’s a debate as old as time. For me mining is a grind, for others it’s the best part of the game.![]()
You underestimate some of our fellow players ability to turn anything into a grind and then complain about it.Maybe, but I bet it lasts longer than grind.
So the "creative gameplay" will definitely last longer since it will eventually be turned into grind anyway and therefore can't last less long than grind? You underestimate some of our fellow players ability to turn anything into a grind and then complain about it.
Eventually might be overstating things. So the "creative gameplay" will definitely last longer since it will eventually be turned into grind anyway and therefore can't last less long than grind?
This is getting complicated.

Nah, it was the solution that brought that, not the thinking. Solutions can be engaging/interesting if there is the will and resources for it.That sort of thinking brought in Prestige Ranking...
Grind has just degenerated in gamerspeak to 'I don't like this gameplay, so I'm gonna trashtalk it'. Like when you see people call a one-time engineer unlock a 'grind'
Good point. That's definitely a problem but it's only a minor one. That’s the problem with truly creative gameplay. Since there’s many creative ways to interact with it, it’s almost inevitable that someone will discover a way transform it into a dull grind, and then complain about how dull and grindy it is.
That is essentially the argument for why Odyssey ("space legs") would be a superb idea for a feature popular with every ED player and attracting many new ones too.more sense for the new feature to be something that's been proven to work with an ED coat of paint. Base building is a classic example of this and it would fit perfectly into ED's core mechanics and "grind".

The biggest problem with creative gameplay is it has a high risk of just being bad. Creative ideas are original by definition. And original ideas haven't been proven to work. In fact most of the obviously good ideas have already been attempted which means original creative ideas have a much higher chance of failure.
It's complicated even further by the fact that original ideas not only need to be fundamentally good but they also need to be executed well. For example: Power Play 1.0 is (IMO) a fundamentally good original idea (merits, expansions, cycles, pledging, etc) but the execution left a lot to be desired (IMO). When people request "creative" gameplay they seem to assume it'll be great by default.
Knowing FDev, it'll make much more sense for the new feature to be something that's been proven to work with an ED coat of paint. Base building is a classic example of this and it would fit perfectly into ED's core mechanics and "grind".
Some of the community have said they have wanted those things, but I am not sure even if you lump the two groups together it is a large enough fraction to claim that the community as a whole want either one.It should be either base building or a proper PvP mode both things the community has wanted for years.

An error on the Frontier Store web code (yes, there are some who examine even that for tinfoil), which was rapidly removed, suggested it in the ED page...Don’t remember hearing about base building when I was active a couple of years ago, so seems like a new thing to me.
