Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

How do I find the stuff to gather? Is it like a HGE where I have to scan the system to find a signal?

20% heat? So heatsinks and/or a G5 clean drive?
The Titan appears on the system map, when you reach it in cruise it is a bit like arriving at a hot spot in a ring, as you approach the centre things will appear on your radar and contacts page, some will be mats some cargo some might be Thargoids but they become fewer the older the wreck is though pirates then start to appear.

A heat sink is handy, clean drives, low emission power pack, efficient modules all help.
Some ships are known for cool running such as the Diamondback Explorer or the Krait Phantom.

Hi All :)

I went to the Lave station last night in my anniversary decaled Cobra Mk 3 (Around 7.30 pm uk time to about 9pm) ...quite fun. I don't usually play in open but I did last night.
A pleasant experience, so thank's to all the other Cmdr.'s who attended.

Just tried to move my Carrier this morning from Riedquat where it was stationed last night, but as others have experienced today it's 'Jump locked'....ah well.....

Jack :)

I watched the Lave Radio & Drew Wagar 40th streams concurrently, until they merged with a raid :)

I remember well, though didn't really play, the original Elite (our home computer was an Apple ][, not a BBC Micro) and it was really interesting to see more of the 1990's Frontier Elite games (available game time was mainly playing CD-ROM adventures on a Mac LC-630 by then)

...so here's to Elite in general & Elite Dangerous in particular - may it live long & prosper! 🖖
