Modules in Power Play 2.0

Haven't had a chance to keep up with the streams.
  • Will modules still be linked to powers?
  • Do we still need to pledge for a minimum amount of time to earn the modules?
  • Will we still lose access to the modules upon switching our pledge?
My concern is around the current mechanic of having to wait a month just to gain access to a module.

Thanks.

I did hear it mentioned that you will retain all of your modules after the Update. What you will lose is your Rank with that Power. Everyone will go back to Zero Rank but not lose the Modules you had earned. They start talking about PP 2.0 at 1:10:22 of the Livestream LIVESTREAM on YOUTUBE

What was clear from the FD Unlocked livestream was that pledged commanders will be automatically unpledged (without penalties) but will retain whatever PP modules they have.

FD was silent on :

1. how new modules would be earned (and what their requirements would be)
2. if there were possible enhancements to PP modules as you rank up in PP 2.0

We'll find out more about those I think once additional PP 2.0 responses are posted by FD on the boards.

The flipside is that since the new system is effort based from what I understand (rather than time based) you could unlock all of the modules in that time with sufficient effort, at least in theory.

ObsidianAnt's video mentioned that all powers will grant all PP modules, but you unlock them at different ranks depending on which power you pledge.

So you probably unlock cytos earlier if you pledge to Delaine, etc.
Haven't seen that one yet. Would like to know where he got that info from because it wasn't in the Livestream.

I just watched Obsidian Ant's Elite: Ascendancy video and it's a skillful concise compilation of all the PP 2.0 reveals by FD so far. This is just a guess/speculation on my part but I wouldn't be surprised if PP 2.0 introduced new, engineered complementary modules to the existing PP modules as part of the new loyalty reward system.

A good example would be pre-engineered shield boosters designed for Aisling's prismatic shields.

Well you'll have at least one new one with Kaine (that is if FD continue the unique module per power)
But as it has been said you can eventually get all modules without changing powers it seems like they won’t be unique but will be available in a different order depending who you join.

What I meant was FD will create or define a new module in the first place akin to other powers.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THE CURRENT SYSTEMS UNIQUE WEAPONS AVAILABILITY WHEN THE CHANGE OCCURS?

Every power can now reward it’s Agents with each of the unique Powerplay modules. You will gradually unlock each one as your loyalty rank increases

WILL POWERPLAY MODULES BE REBALANCED?

Not for the launch of Powerplay, this is something the team is going to continue to monitor but for launch they will remain unchanged

WILL POWERPLAY MODULES STILL REQUIRE PLEDGING TO A FACTION AND RANKING UP OR WILL THEY WORK DIFFERENTLY UNDER THE NEW SYSTEM?

They will but as mentioned above every power gives out every module eventually, though the order you receive them is different for each Power.

Although that’s just standard speak for “we can’t be bothered to change them” since I’m not sure what the need for “continue to monitor” is, those modules have only been around for years and years now.

That's my hope. I like min/maxing ship builds for fun and it's very disappointing when I get blocked by a Power Play module. Having to buy a bunch and keep them in stock is also a problem since module storage is so limited.
