DLC18 discussion and predictions

Unrelated to the constant dlc and anniversary speculation squabble, but I just saw some early Halloween decorations from a zoo's social media post, and I'm kinda bummed they didn't put any good bone/skeleton pieces in the Twilight pack. You could use them for educational builds, dry looking desert habitats (like the image below), or for general Halloween decorations.

Twilight Pack was so weird.... Everything about it kinda stands out. Its theme is kinda random, the animal roster was controversial, the scenery felt completely out of left field, AND it had bats just out of nowhere.
Back in the day I remember being furious because what was clearly a Halloween pack had no Tassie devil... But we got the devil anyway later so I can't really complain.

As for the skeletons... As much as I would love them, I feel like maybe they don't really fit with the planet zoo aesthetic...? Generally everything, especially scenery pieces, tend to feel very lively and colourful - even Twilight, which is supposed to be more gloomy and dark... So bones would definitely look a bit weird.
But if we got some animal skeletons I would be so happy

I mean... have you seen the other animal pack key-art pieces? 😅 I don't get the point you're trying to make here, that's literally the case for all the animal pack key-art pieces. The only animal that is prominent is the feature animal, all the other ones are always are always silhouettes in the background.
But this is supposed to highlight ANIMAL DIVERSITY beyond any geographical/biome theme, why would only ONE animal be visible with all others in the shadow? How does showing ONE animal in color (a grumpy cat) highlight animal diversity as a theme effectively?

For me, theres a lot of signs that show this is a celebration pack.

- Anniversary made early to be released with this

- Dictionary animals all being Unique and adds great Animal Diversity

- The Key-art showing base game scenery pieces and a zoo keeper which has NEVER happened.

Also, this is only going to be promoted on the internet. Cats rule this place
Well, even if you wanted to put a Pallas Cat as the headliner, if you wanted to showcase diversity, I'd have more animals in the background in color and clearly visible to get my point across about animal diversity. Just my take.

I mean... Not the worst idea... Coati, tree roo, new world monkey fit right in. The only downside to such pack would be no birds. At least the type of birds we would expect for PZ.
Yeah that could be a definite possibility, unless they give us something like this:

I would be upset about no habitat birds, but if the final dlc has a half decent amount of WTE birds I might not mind. (Except no duck is unforgivable, teehee 🤭)

It alway's been 3 animals, two shadows and one as the Headliner. No matter how big the pack is, though its weird that they choose 3 animals from the same biome/region.

I never thought of that, you are right. Might have been one of the biggest missed opportunities in PZ. Not counting animal choices.

Because that's just the design language they use for animal packs? Like, I'm sorry, I didn't make the rules here, that's just what Frontier has decided to do for their animal packs and they've stuck with that for all their animal packs so far. 🤷‍♂️

My favorite part about the outrage around Twilight were the people mad that it had Halloween scenery. Like we had Arctic and Europe with Christmas/winter scenery pieces so who cares, it's just another very decorative holiday. But also the actual scenery theme was more focused on the Transylvanian castle pieces which would go well with the Europe theme, and the Halloween stuff was like the B-side scenery pieces which is like whatever if you don't want to use them.

Twilight pack could have been way more greater, Nocturnal pieces, Bones and Skeletons, Aye-Aye/Aardwolf instead of the Striped-Skunk. To me it just felt like more of a Europe 2.0 pack with Halloween pieces. Wished they focused more on the Halloween Side as I really wanted some fake skeletons or haunted themes.

Who says it's meant to? That idea is just something that we've completely fabricated on here with no evidence whatsoever. We don't yet know what the pack is meant to highlight. Also it just looks like every other key art. I really don't get your point.

Honestly the Twilight scenery was goated.
I just wanna remind everyone that the Twilight roof set was our first roof set since Aquatic (almost 2 full years prior). The stone bricks are great, the wood panels are perfect, and the metal pieces I forgot the name of are a must for me. The foliage was solid and the stalagmites expanded our flexicolour rock options.

But people focused on the big plastic mushrooms and the spiderweb tables... (It's me, I'm people. I'm sorry Twilight Pack, I owe you an apology)

This is because of PC2 obviously.

Not all the dictionary animals have to be added in the final pack, if it's not a final pack. Circular reasoning.
- The Key-art showing base game scenery pieces and a zoo keeper which has NEVER happened.
Southeast Animal Pack didn't add any pieces, the art showed old pieces.

Yes, there is a keeper, but previous DLCs showed zoo visitors, and the packs didn't correlate with a visitor theme either.

Honestly that would such an easy way to implement perching and would Open the possibility for things like storks, ibises, spoonbills, Southern screamer, secretary... All being able to use that, would be so cool. Idk why we don't have something like that already 😭

I'd argue it was North America 2. But if they went with fossils or bones instead of giant mushrooms it would've been better...
Speaking of carcasses, at the Houston Zoo the new Birds of the World exhibit has an African aviary, and in that aviary are some vultures. Their feeder is designed to look like a dead buffalo, which is really cool
