DLC18 discussion and predictions

This is because of PC2 obviously.

Not all the dictionary animals have to be added in the final pack, if it's not a final pack. Circular reasoning.

Southeast Animal Pack didn't add any pieces, the art showed old pieces.

Yes, there is a keeper, but previous DLCs showed zoo visitors, and the packs didn't correlate with a visitor theme either.
Currently we have 2/8 dictionary animals, the animals removed with Hamadrya's and Markhor in the dictionary with them was:

  • Sifaka
  • Dik-Dik
  • Spurred

I forgot the others... -_-

Because that's just the design language they use for animal packs? Like, I'm sorry, I didn't make the rules here, that's just what Frontier has decided to do for their animal packs and they've stuck with that for all their animal packs so far. 🤷‍♂️
Well, it's a terrible marketing strategy. If this pack is completely different thematically than the rest, the artwork should change as well to highlight this. I don't think Frontier are incompetent, therefore I don't believe the art hints at a collection pack showcasing animal diversity as a theme.

Then what's the point of them adding a Zoo keeper Shadow, and Base Game Decorations and Construction items in it with a "Party Tent".

Especially the Base Game Decorations, that were like added 5 years ago..

Those could have all been avoided, it just seems off ngl..

Honestly that would such an easy way to implement perching and would Open the possibility for things like storks, ibises, spoonbills, Southern screamer, secretary... All being able to use that, would be so cool. Idk why we don't have something like that already 😭
Well that’s easy, someone at the Frontier office clearly has ornithophobia. The idea of any bird even attempting to fly on rails would give them a heart attack. The reason why we have gotten so few birds is because they have to mentally prep this staff member in advance.

The chicken nearly killed him!

Though seriously though, one last big final dlc with a handful of props to give “flying” would be awesome. As you said, there could be a handful of great birds already.

Who says it's meant to? That idea is just something that we've completely fabricated on here with no evidence whatsoever. We don't yet know what the pack is meant to highlight. Also it just looks like every other key art. I really don't get your point.
I would argue because it looks like other key art from previous packs, it WON'T be a collection pack highlighting animal diversity because such a pack theme would require quite different art compared to previous DLCs. One cover animal (a grumpy cat) with all other animals in shadow and not colored doesn't make much sense from a marketing perspective.

All this speculation made me realise that I don't even care about what the pack is anymore, I just want new animals lol

I'm already soooo hyped for the 3 (4, I'm including the leopard) animals that we already know about, I can't wait to have them in my zoo.
That's the way to view it. I'm just happy we reached this far in the 1st place. The game could've easily ended after Europe pack, and I remember how much people said it was gonna end. Then it was repeated for the Eurasia pack

Ah I see, I thought you were arguing that it was a collection pack and that therefore the key art was terrible marketing. But you're sort of arguing the opposite. Okay, that makes sense now! Haha. Hard to follow all the disjointed arguments in this thread! I agree, it's not going to be a collection pack. I mean it might be, but I'd be very surprised.

That makes 0 sense. Why would they change their entire design art for 1 pack regardless of the theme? The packs are recognizable for how they're designed theres no point changing everything about it. Also maybe they only use 1 animal to flagship the pack art because if they had more than 1 animal the art would look messy and crowded. I personally like how they've done the art style.

There is no later though, if they don't get added now. They will be added in 2 years
Very likely but we still technically don’t know that. As far as we know they may pull a post barnyard and say “we got something else coming”.

I still think the financial report was kept vague for that reason, console support may have boosted the sales enough to justify it.

Or we are all right and this is the last one.

I mean the flags could hint at a highland tibetan theme. The Pallas cat is found throughout the Tibetan plateau after all. Tent houses are also common in highland areas.

I dunno about the zookeeper, maybe it's supposed to represent an expedition to the highlands or a zoo set in the highlands? Previous DLCs had zoo visitors in the art as well, the point in the art is you're supposed to envision a zoo set in that biome.

They added Visitors because it was supposed to show the Scenery off of the pack your buying, all of those are scenery packs. We have never seen a Human Being in an Animal Pack as its only animals seen.

I don;t think this is the final pack, hence those animals can come in later DLCs. That's just my take.

It can go either way. Y'all know how many times the community has said that PlanZo was gonna end? Apparently even YouTubers stated that. Look how wrong everyone was. Then again, remember how we would think a certain theme is coming out, and it'd end up being different than we imagined?

We don't know what's on Frontier's agenda, but what we do know is that we're getting at least 4 new animals, 1 of which is free and quite popular outside these forums

You don't know this. Your statements are very forceful, it's worth remembering that we don't know yet and we can all be wrong. I, for one, usually am!
Yeah, I can see my posts being forceful. But the best I think they can do is 6 months for a pack, which is still good and content.

I feel like Frontier though just wants to manage 2 games at once to keep a flow of the work effort and spread it without them being rushed.
