DLC18 discussion and predictions

I think clearer communication is definitely needed especially when it comes to the status of the game since we are at the point were the uncertainty is directly affecting I think the game would of benefited much more from something similar to what the sims does which is a major post announcing everything coming in the next quarter with some overt and subtextual hints so saying there will be one animal pack with a some mountains in the backdrop of the post or some other theme indicators would do speculation wonders community would have an idea of the future and a grounded base to start theorising. I still think the major teaser streams are a good idea cover the free update drop more direct hints and then either announce the pack next day or drip feed the animal over a week.
Yeah absolutly. Imo the big problem with the speculation streams was that they didnt get to the point, felt like they wasted my time and allways came like a day before the actual announcement.

Imo the best concept would be a drip feat over their social media once the pack is announced. Something as simple teasing the entire pack early with hints like a riddle, funfact or just a pic of a body part does not just build hype, it also decreases disappointment on the full announcement.
For this dlc, imagine this timeline:

25.9.: Frontier unlocked stream, teaser image
27.9.: Picture of the pallas cats tail as an "who is this" type deal
29.9: Pic of the markhors horns
1.10: Pic of the hamadryas ear tuffts
3.10: Pic of something from the free update or a 4. animal
4. 10: Official announcement

Would this be so hard? This would have actually intentionally build hype instead of whatever this is and all by just showing things we allready know

A summary of what waiting for a dlc announcement feels like:

Exactly!
Honestly the worst thing about being an adult is that people dont ask what you favorite dinosaur is anymore
I'm an adult and I like dinosaurs. I even wrote a short dino book that I'm hoping to turn into a 6-book saga, largely inspired by Jurassic Park but more emphasis on dinos actually surviving. Well, book 1 has cloned dinos and hybrids, but I jave reasons for that/ Books 2 and 3 I don't plan on genetic clones or hybrids

Wait really? Is this online anywhere

no prehistoric kingdom and JWE both are not direct competitors to planet zoo because there is huge divide between dinos and zoo animals same as there is a divide between aquariums and zoos.
The last major 3d zoo builder was zoo tycoon 2 the 2d market is a bit better but still no strong competitors for the more realistic crowd most focusing on the management often containing fantasy animals or ideas.
Still more of a direct Competitor though than Jurassic World Evolution 2

The Pallas cat and Markhor are actually illusions, we're actually getting a primate pack! The pallas cat you see up front? It's actually a really fluffy colobus
YES!!!

Which is a shame because who doesn't like dinosaurs? Only weirdos don't have a favorite dino/Mesozoic reptile!
😅 Guess I'm a weirdo because there are too many cool ones

There's a nice Manga titled Dinosaur Sanctuary.
Haven't read it myself but saw a Video about it on YouTube

I like the weirdos
Incisivosaurus🙃

Spinosauurs, yi and deinocheirus.
If we talk mesozoi animals in general throw in simosuchus and hatzegopteryx aswell.
I like the weirdos
My fellow Spino fan! I liked it since JP3 (and not because it was a Rex killer)
I also like Carnotaurus (from Disney Dinosaur). And Lambeosaurus is my 3rd favorite

I'll have to check it out. Essentially, there are 3 valleys where extinct life has survived. But it shows more of an emphasis on how humans can utterly destroy an environment and how the valleys should be left alone
