1 more animal for each DLC

(and I've said many times that there's literally no such thing as a "balanced roster"; the concept itself is stupid, as real zoo collections are not balanced).
I think it's less about arbitrary numbers or ratios and more about:

1. For realism builders, replicating the diversity seen in real zoos. Large, charismatic mammals are definitely more likely to be the centerpieces of zoo collections, but they don't actually make up the majority of animals in most zoos (except safari parks). Frontier has done a pretty good job representing these "filler" animals with the glaring exceptions of birds, monkeys, and to a lesser extent tortoises.

2. For all builders, having a diversity of choice between more than one animal of a certain "type". For instance, if I want a spotted Asian pantherine in my zoo, I can pick between the snow leopard, the Amur leopard, and the clouded leopard, which is great. If I want a waterfowl, I have literally one choice, even though every zoo I've been to, even very small ones, has multiple species of waterfowl.

Anyway:
Deluxe: American black bear
Arctic: Musk ox
South America: Greater rhea
Australia: Short-beaked echidna
Aquatic: Great white pelican
Southeast Asia: Sarus crane
Africa: Hamadryas baboon
North America: North American river otter
Europe: White stork
Wetlands: White-faced whistling duck
Conservation: Golden lion tamarin
Twilight: Ocelot
Grasslands: Grey crowned crane
Tropical: Mantled guereza
Arid: Secretary bird
Oceania: Matschie's tree-kangaroo
Eurasia: Himalayan monal
Barnyard: Muscovy duck

So? This is a fantasy. If I was going back in time to add an extra animal to each DLC in real life then I might make different choices, but since this is just make-believe it doesn't actually matter. In any case these are my preferences. I don't care if they don't suit everyone. It's not an exercise in fairness (and I've said many times that there's literally no such thing as a "balanced roster"; the concept itself is stupid, as real zoo collections are not balanced).
I was just giving my thoughts on your choices. After all if you post it on a discussion forum it is normal that other users might comment on it wether you care or not.

My approach on this thread despite being a fantasy was to try something that could work realistically not based in what real zoos collections are but based on what Frontier packs usually look like. Of course, you are free to do your lists as you want.

Not what I meant when I said I didn't care - the thing I don't care about is whether my list suits the needs of everyone else. It's a wishlist, not a "here's what I think will make people happy" list. In other words, I'm only sharing the animals I actually want to see in the game. I'm not going to put in, for example, the short-beaked echidna or lyrebird in the Australia Pack. Why would I? I don't need either of those. I do need a grey kangaroo, though.

Frontier packs aren't usually diverse. Which is why we ended up with four pigs in a row and zero monkeys.

And besides, the biggest complaint about the Tropical Pack was that there was no monkey, yet at the same time everyone wanted a lar gibbon, too. Absolutely zero good reason to include one and not the other if we're arbitrarily adding another animal.

In any event, as I said in a comment earlier in the thread, there's no reason to limit your choices on a wishlist due to some self-imposed rules.

I decided to redo my list, as at least one of my choices arrived in a subsequent pack (red river hog in Tropical):
Deluxe - Bar-headed goose
Arctic - Wolverine
South America - Colombian red howler monkey
Australia - Tasmanian devil
Aquatic - Giant Asian pond turtle
Southeast Asia - Sulawesi bear cuscus
Africa - Southern ground hornbill
North America - Ocellated turkey
Europe - European rabbit
Wetlands - Lac Alaotran gentle lemur
Conservation - Malagasy giant rat
Twilight - Boat-billed heron
Grasslands - Grivet monkey
Tropical - Central American spider monkey
Arid - African spurred tortoise

And again, the standard exhibit species I would pick:
Deluxe - King cobra
Arctic - European common adder
South America - South American conehead katydid
Australia - Frilled lizard
Aquatic - Atlantic mudskipper
Southeast Asia - Giant Malayan palm weevil
Africa - Mozambique girdled lizard
North America - Collared lizard
Europe - Mallorcan midwife toad
Wetlands - Common yabby
Conservation - Turquoise dwarf gecko
Twilight - Net-casting spider
Grasslands - Red spitting cobra
Tropical - Golden-armed mantis
Arid - Common chameleon

I would have also made a list for walkthrough exhibits, but I don't like the idea of hurting myself.
Figured I would completely redo my list with the (very likely) final pack now out:
Deluxe - Bar-headed goose
Arctic - Siberian crane
South America - Colombian red howler monkey
Australia - Greater bilby
Aquatic - Prevost's squirrel
Southeast Asia - Sulawesi bear cuscus
Africa - Southern ground hornbill
North America - Ocellated turkey
Europe - European rabbit
Wetlands - De Brazza's guenon
Conservation - Giant Asian pond turtle
Twilight - South African springhare
Grasslands - Grivet monkey
Tropical - Central American spider monkey
Arid - Patagonian mara
Oceania - Victoria crowned pigeon
Eurasia - Yellow-throated marten
Barnyard - Greater cane rat (they are farmed in Africa, so I think they absolutely count)
Zookeepers - Secretary bird

And, again, the standard exhibit species I would have picked for each:
Deluxe - King cobra
Arctic - European common adder
South America - Crayola katydid
Australia - Frilled lizard
Aquatic - Atlantic mudskipper
Southeast Asia - Giant Malayan palm weevil
Africa - Mozambique girdled lizard
North America - Collared lizard
Europe - Mallorcan midwife toad
Wetlands - Burmese vine snake
Conservation - Turquoise dwarf gecko
Twilight - Net-casting spider
Grasslands - Veiled chameleon
Tropical - Giant rainforest mantis
Arid - Mexican giant horned lizard
Oceania - Green tree python
Eurasia - Luristan newt
Barnyard - Domestic silkmoth
Zookeepers - Red-bellied piranha
