Planet Zoo | ZooKeepers Animal Pack Announcement

Some YouTube users said and thought that that DLC Pack is or will be the last one. How do we know whether that'll be the last DLC pack or not, and won't be anymore or not? Any proofs and evidences?

It's been discussed at length for a looooong while but the very very short recap is:

  1. We're 5 years in (even longer in terms of development), that's quite long, few games last as long as this so we're in the potential end-game with every DLC. Both in terms of the technical side and the fact that there's no infinite amount of animals to add to the game.
  2. Planet Coaster 2 is around the corner, and JWE3 is coming next year; both taking up budget and resources. Frontier went through big lay-offs, which also affected technical staff, so they have less resources for their games.
  3. JWE2 ended with a Park Mangers Collection Pack, which is in line with a Zookeepers Animal Pack, a pack with fan requested animals.
  4. If it stops now, the console bundles end at the end of this fiscal year, which is a nice for the financial side of things.
We won't have any concrete proof until we see no more updates on the Steam DB in the months after this pack; but we've got signs that are pointing in that direction. Some people will disagree with that, but that's what you get when there's no official confirmation on the end of the game 😅

We only know that Frontier, when announcing the Barnyard DLC, said that there would be another DLC at the end of the year (which is this Zookeeper DLC). The last DLC for Jurassic World Evolution 2 was very similar in theme to this Zookeeper DLC.
Otherwise, as seems to be the case with Frontier, we don't have any official confirmation that this is the last DLC, we just have a lot of hints that it is the most likely.

For me, everything indicates that it is the last one except for one small detail, which is that we are only one more DLC away from reaching 200 animals, and commercially it is a very good hook to have or exceed that number.

If we get corrected soundfiles for the donkeys, I'll buy the DLC immediateyl as ususal. If not.... no urge for me to buy it today. Sooomeday, sure, once I need the baboon or spectacled bear. But no rush. I feel less motivated to spend my money then I guess, even if I will soooomewhere down the line.
Normally I buy on the day of release but I don’t have the same sense of urgency either. Will probably wait until payday for this one.

I don't understand it either...
Instead of just playing the game, people spend hours here to discussing and crying about unlaid eggs.
Frontier has shown time and time again that they're open for feedback. As long as it's presented in a constructive way they always welcome it.

I want to stress the in a constructive way part here, so as long as people do that (and that's what the majority here do) there's no need for comments like "stop complaining". Let people voice their feedback, they do because they play the game and care about it.

Constant negativity isn't good, toxic positivity isn't either.

Oh no! I thought the pack was already out and went to download it. Do we know what time it launches?

I'm so keen to replace the wonky tents in my zoo, and to check everything out for myself!

Not quite what I meant, but I agree with you on the whole.

Justified criticism is right and important, nobody wants a bintuwrong gate 2.0
Nevertheless, people get worked up far too quickly about things that they don't know anything about. In Germany we call this "unlaid eggs"
A little more patience would not do one or the other here any harm.

also i get a notifacation every time someone talks wich is fine until i am woken up at 3 in the morning by people complaining

I will buy right away, some of these animals fit right into my current zoos. Maybe the pack is not what we have all expected for a last DLC, but still, at this point that we even get a new content is incredible.

I really do not see any decreasing quality like some other people pointed out. Less content sure, in particular I am sad about lack of exhibit animals, more enrichment items and more foliage, but the content that we do get in case of animals is still the same. There were always photorealistic animals, animals that look great and animals that had some issues. I see no difference here.
