My original list was pretty weird, I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote this 🤣 but anyway I got only 9... Though to be fair I made mine just after Conservation.

Had some time to kill so I made this little graphic depicting each of my metawishlist animals that made it into the game. I'm so glad to have each and every one of them (and of course, the devil most of all):

Also kinda funny how, looking back, Wetlands, Grasslands and Oceania each gave me a trio of animals from my wishlist. This means that, of the 13 species from my list that made it into the game, nine of them came in just three packs, out of the whopping 12 DLCs that have been announced I posted my original list back in June of 2021. No wonder all three are among my favourite DLCs!

I just went for a mix between my favourite animals and what an employee at Frontier would add to please the majority of players 😆
Looking at my list now i'm surprised that the Sloth Bear arrived in the game before the Musk Ox, but i really hope to see my last two added before they stop supporting the game with dlcs.🤞

Wild and old list, but hey i might not agree with ex me anymore (i wanted a skunk but no duck?!) but hey only means my taste improved

10 out of 20 is a good call, with the 8 stars and 2 hearts making it into the game in this very noteably pre NA pack list, as 3/4 animals from europe and twilight were on this list. In addition i marked the fallow and racoon with a heart as 2 of my favorite additions to the game.

I also marked 5 animals with ¿ as animals i still like but wouldnt choose for a current wishlist, either due to redundancy due to current additions (chamois) or other similar options being prefered by now (lace > papua monitor rip urmel).
The only animal id completly cut as no interest anymore is the african civet, which i liked at the time but just is kind of whatever of an oddball pack. The fact that africas small animal non monkey or birds roster is pretty great by now also doesnt help its case.
So we got 10 i wanted, 5 id phase out for, 1 miss and 4 id still want, not the worst way to go

I got 5, which I guess it could be worse and I got none. I’ve always wanted ducks but you can see overtime how much more essential they became to me. It is funny that besides the new world monkey the only other two mammals on my list made it into the game.

And of the 21 birds on my list only two were chosen oh my God that is so painful.

So, of my original 25 options (some of which are, in hindsight, really weird and not stuff I would really choose today), I got just three - the striped hyaena, Coquerel's sifaka and red river hog. Honestly, if I had got the yellow-throated marten, I would have missed basically none of the other species.

Got 10 from my original list, and that's only because I semi-cheated with putting both leopards. Was hoping they'd add some more walking birds and unique antelopes. I knew cetaceans was wishful thinking but figured the American black bear was a near-lock, oof.
