If I understand this correctly it would seem in essence any ship bought in the store will have a de facto LTI, now called "insurance + warranty" instead, but serving the same purpose. Main unknown is the Tier thing.

So, LTI is not really dead. It is very much alive, it is just applied to all store bought ships.

I wonder how this will impact the grey market speculators and possible money laundering practices in there.

I find it hard to believe people would queue for merch for 3 hours ever. Doubly if the actual event is happening at the time.

Just done a little bit of google-fu with limited connection I have here.

The RAFT unless I am mistaken doesn't have anywhere to load a vehicle on it.
That's OK...I'll shove it in my Starlancer max

...don't laugh, it cost me a whole $12 for the CCU to the warbond version. I'll never learn, I should have a giant poster above my monitor reminding me not to give the idiot Roberts my spare change again...ever. That's how I ended up with two certificates of stupid in the first place

Does that explain the new '10 Year' name for this purchase option?

Back in 2014 or even 2016 I'd think anything with a -10 year next to it is silly. Here we are in 2024 and it's very possibly Star Citizenw ill still be in developemnt 10 ears later.

Whatever vitamins or bathsoap Chris Roberts is using, I want it. Misuse of funds, Hollywood law suit and now Star Citizen, nothing will put this man in jail, he's that slippery.

Wow, and I'm guessing those sales don't show up in the funding tracker right?

12 new ships and 3 vehicles while they still have a long backlog of unfinished ships. Too much development resources goes into these ships.
The technical debt in this project, just for the ships they've sold but haven't implemented yet, is utterly insane. They have already spent the money that they were paid for the ships, so what is funding the development of the assets? The sale of new ships!

Looking in the funding tracker, doesn't look as high as last year. Anyone can compare?

I imagine it'll shake out on the CCUgame site. (Can't be bothered to dive around in the google spreadsheet, but that has daily tallies etc. And I think maybe even a fine grained breakdown for Citcon)

People in the thread saying they are ok with this.

I guess these people are of the younger persuasion and haven't yet felt death's icy grip.

This surprised me - I was expecting Pyro to be another 'Playtest' situation where it appears and then vanishes for another year. But Chris is saying it will go to Live. If it goes live with the current config that is nearly doubling their server costs...
