New 2024 Livestream series!

Hi :)

Possibly as meaningful as the thrust vectoring flaps on the back of a Cobra which I first saw on the 20th Ruby celebrations.

For what it's worth, I ran the video of the Mandalay several times, and just as the ship was about to land it seems to me those 'ailerons' do move slightly downwards at one point.
Anyhow, I'm really looking forward to acquiring one....complete with ship kit and and hopefully some nice unique paint skins! :)
A 'Survey' kit would be one of my choices for the Mandalay if it was available. ;)

Jack :)

It already seems to me that those clips that are shown from the game, the control there through the gamepad. Or am I wrong?

Re the original squadron-based FC thingie ...

@Obsidian Ant's recent ED yootoob contained footage including the proposed support / exploration tenders for the FC. I don't know if he was just re-using old video stock or if there is some sort of move to bring these support ships into the game.

EDIT: OK - I didn't know about "stronghold carriers" and their support ships due in PP2, sorry- That long "unlocked" program sent me to sleep so I missed that:

The current FC doesn't feel like a ship, because it can't move inside a star system. It's a mobile base that looks like a ship. Support ships would be no different unless they change the functionality. I want a true Fleet Carrier that can fly to custom locations inside a star system.

It can't supercruise in a system but of course you can move from body to body in a system by jumping the FC. I have no idea what the PP support ships do / are for and I also can't understand why they are using a FC as a "stronghold carrier" rather than use a megaship.

The stronghold faction fleet carrier are supposed to allow pledged commanders to dock and get special PP related stuff (missions?). Popular private groups and maybe even Open will be crowded with large ships.
You realise that megaships and carriers are panmodal and persistent?

Is it possible to disembark a mega-ship after docking? Get out of the ship in a spacesuit...

Rescue ships are megaships and you can disembark on them and of course the Gnosis famously had a load of ships docked on its travels (not sure if you could disembark on it though).

I just thought that megaships would be bigger than fleet carriers (else why the "mega" name) but I was of course incorrect.

In the last СG I couldn't board the rescue ship, I had a grayed out menu.

It is possible to disembark on several megaships, however I don't think it's possible on those that are involved with a CG (possibly to avoid landing pad blocking).
Try looking for other megaships in the Bubble, eventually you'll find those where you can disembark (can't remember any names).

Hi All :)

Just as a re-cap,

I presume the next Frontier Unlocked is still scheduled for Wednesday 30th of October?
Just wondering if the Ascendancy Update delay will have any affect on that stream as to whether that might be delayed also. I'm presuming it shouldn't but  ...I was just having that thought.
Was it also scheduled that there might be some information in that livestream about the 'brand new feature'?...or was it that some information about it was going to be revealed sometime after the 30th... towards the end of this year.

Jack :)

Maybe we'll get a hint about a fourth ship.

I doubt the delay to Ascendancy would affect the stream itself - worst case, whatever they planned to talk about Elite Dangerous gets replaced with one of their other game chats going longer and they talk about that ED stuff in the November stream instead.

They did hint that the October stream would include information about what the next feature after Ascendancy is and it's possible that if it still hasn't been released by the time of the stream they'll delay that bit and just talk more about Ascendancy.
