Newcomer / Intro Fleet Carrier Jump - No Time Slots

Probably lots of people as it is the message you get when the number of carriers trying to jump has overloaded things so much that even a two hour jump timer won’t work.

Probably the aftermath of the update downtime worsened by lots of commanders trying to move their carriers for PowerPlay is my guess.

That maybe the cause , but what is fdev doing about it ? game breaker here
I agree. When you are trying to move tons of merch for a price only to have to wait 2 hours to get there? The T-9 can't move 5K tons of platinum. If FDEV knew this was a probability, then they should have made the price for carriers a lot higher to dissuade the would be system jumper from using the carrier platform like a T-9.

You new players - don't even know about repairing the Witch Head or the Colonia Meta Alloy runs before FCs were even a thing - kids eh?
LOL, didn't even know it was a thing. Been playing casual since 2014. Guess that was the couple of years I took off from the game. o7

Well agreed with you CMDRs.

It's now 15:30 CEST, my first attempt was this morning 10:00 AM CEST. Since this morning,
I regularly try to have my FC joining my explorer as I found good hotspots and need my miner.
Still no way to jump for just ~200 LY due to this queuing issue for the past 5:30 hours.
I mean, whatever complexity is involved in FC management on FDev side, I cannot understand the "No Way - try later " thing.
Why not implementing a simple queue where each FC have a limited number of slots such as ASAP (15 minutes), in 30 minutes, in 45 minutes, in 1 hour, etc... as quotas ?
Let's say you have 2 ASAP, then 4, 6, 8 slots per category per month when there is load on servers ?
When servers are close to free (ie. FC jumps task is less than 40 % regarding related task load) then no quota required.
As soon as you servers exceed some limits for this task, quotas are activated.
In any case, CMDR would be warned of the delay, that let you plan other activities during that time or evaluate/anticipate impact on your gaming. I would prefer knowing that my FC will jump in 24 hours, rather than praying to find for a free jump slot for hours with absolutely no certainty of when or how I should planned my gaming.

Also, issue is not " I want my FC now". It is more about planning your gaming strategy.
Personnaly I jump about once or twice a week. I do not need it to be immediate. What I need is to know when the jump will occur.
Why not putting a scheduling request ?
On my current need, and globally, having a way to request jump in the next 12 hours would be fine. It will let me plan other activities.
I will retry a jump this evening, perhaps tomorrow morning ? tomorrow afternoon ? On next monday ? in 4 days ? the week after ? the month after ? with absolutely no insurance for jump to eventually occur ???
Sorry but that kill the game pleasure.

Does that make sense to you CMDRs ?

And on FDev side ?

Yesssss !!!
21:51 CEST : Jump programmed... Had just to try/wait from 10:00 AM to get a time slot, so 11:51 hours !
"Only" 1:15 hour to wait from now... I guess I will continue the game tomorrow.
May I say I feel a bit frustrated ?

Hi. Just bought a FC and having this issue. Is there a fix or try a shorter jump? Kinda feel like I've been scammed!

Just have to keep trying. It means everyone is trying to jump at the moment. :D

I managed two jumps earlier, each one took 75 minutes. This may be anecdotal, but the slots seem to be available at the beginning of the minute (e.g. when the in-game clock ticks over to the next minute) - until they run out again very quickly. Has anyone else observed the same or was it just luck?

@Sithilis : No worries - you have not been scammed ;-)
Previous answers are straight to the point. Fleet Carriers are victims of their success.
As a too high number of jump requests are done, next to come are refused. Just retry regularly.
It's part of managing our gameplay with a fleet carrier.
As you defined a target for a jump, plan other tasks to do in the mean time (exploration/exobiology/mining/whatever...).
Have your target destination bookmarked, and then retry regularly from your current ship right panel.
On my side, I explore heading or close to next target with my Explorer, so when asking for a jump I can quickly be back on board once done.
Others probably have other ways managing that, and I guess you will find your own, convenient for your usage.
But definitely, fleet carriers are a "must have" tool !
