Yes I am old but

It always seemed strange to me that I was greeted by my own Fleet carrier crew as if I were not the owner but some regular guy. When I invest 5 Billion credits in something I expect a little respect from my Crew. I am not Mr. Musk (godsake). You cannot disrepect your Boss in real life as well. They should not hail me but when the owner comes goes they should be a little kinda.

A long reported phenomena. Something I - and probably many others - would like to see addressed. Especially if they could get people like Joanna Lumley and Stephen Fry to do the voices. Or possible Norman Lovett as he's already done some.

Indeed.

"Welcome Commander, you have permission to land"

"I should flipping-well hope so since it's my boat and I'm paying your wages!"

Even my satnav is smart enough say "Welcome home" when home is set as my destination.
Surely FDev could have managed to add a handful of unique dialogues related to your FC.

"Welcome home commander".
"Glad to see you made it back safely"
"Take care out there"
"We'll take care of things while you're gone"
Etc.

EDCoPilot fixes that.
Agreed but I can't vouch for it as I've never used it. For two reasons - and these are purely down to my own um... preferences:
  • It collects telemetry
  • It uses MS Edge
By the looks of it though, if you're comfortable with that (and it does highlight these facts in the FAQ) then it's probably a brilliant tool.

I guess if you would own an airport in RL, you would need permission to land too, which would mean that landing strip is clear, noone is trying to land at the same time, etc.

But yeah, some kind of acknowledgment of player status would be nice.

They are being.

You should hear what they really think of that stingy multi billionaire that is leasing the FC that they are working away from their families on.

I will settle for them not openly abusing me.

Seems a good general practice to not identify the captain of a carrier on open channels.

With text to speech freely available and of good quality these days, they should just make it optionally customizable and allow us to type our own dialogue for things (seen only by the local client of course).

I have Voice Attack since years but it's gathering dust because I'm too stupid to use it properly 🤯

Almost the same thing here.

Numerous times (usually after spending money on a COVAS that turns out to be garbage) I've resolved to buy Voice Attack but, after browsing the site, I'm always baffled by what else I need in terms of hardware and software.

I find 'Madeline' to be very welcoming. She doesn't refer to me by name or anything, but you can tell she's supposed to be talking to someone she knows and likes.

Voice attack is pretty much stand alone (but commands can be customised amazingly well) and voice packs just add flavour.
It doesn't seem particularly resource heavy, but that is from the perspective of using a reasonably meaty PC.

"welcome to our carrier", "ah, it's you" - Blaine atc

I don't share this carrier with no one, this ain't no communism, no collective property, greets me like an unwanted guest.

Any way to mute that? Or perhaps replace that voice with a different one. By the way do they use same phrases?

And - even worse - your crew will refuse to protect your carrier from hostile attacks and they will even shoot on you if you hit a landing pad while trying to defend your fleet carrier with bare hands ...
