I refunded this game.

That's because I can have personal feelings while having a professional understanding of the situation - I guess you may not have that ability.

You could instantly resolve this by not buying games at launch. Perhaps the disappointment is that you went to a restaurant that just opened, ordered something they are still perfecting, and are ed about their first night of service.

Maybe you should have waited some time to dine at their establishment if you know this is a constant issue with their franchise or in their industry and you are unable to handle your expectations.
Maybe. And just maybe, developers that release broken half finished games should expect all the criticism they get. Me or anyone else buying the game at launch doesn't absolve the developer for launching and unfinished product.

Thank you, Robert Maynard.

To get things back on topic. I will just add that it's disappointing to not see a crumb of acknowledgement today. Even about one of the issues that seems widespread enough to be affecting everyone, which is flumes not working at all (in that guests do not use them).
Maybe they don't want to speak on one issue until they're ready to talk about many of the issues.

Still, I would say this deterioration of goodwill/trust between fans and Frontier will only plummet more, the more time goes past without hearing from them.
We know the team at Frontier are more than competent. That's why we enjoyed PC1, PZ, JWE 1 & 2 as much as we did. So PC2 being in the state that it is, is a choice. That sums it up.

So true. And in the end it is their choice and decision to release it in this state and remain silent. And the only choice we can make is to talk how we feel and think about it and luckily refund or don't buy it (or deal with it... but I have my limits).

And in my own personal gaming history and with personal feelings I never felt such a disappointment about a release. By reading the Steam Reviews a lot of people are echoing this feelings. Not all of course. But in this case I don't consider it "usual mimimi..." one always has to deal with but serious feelings, thought and opinions by faithful players, fans and lover of the Planet series.

And Frontier proved their competence with Planet Coaster 1 and Planet Zoo and did an excellent job on those, althought they weren't perfect at release and had their flaws (like every other game too). And I guess a lot of people just hoped for an improved step on those experience and basic they established with both games rather then step backs in the overall experience and quality.

Is this enough for ya'll as far as communications goes or are we still super upset at their total silence and inaction?

Hmmm... a link to Frontier's broken issue tracker, an update a month away, bugfixes presented as a "free update", and an "everything's fine, nothing to see here" vibe? I think that all speaks for itself.

That they have listened, are tracking issues, have plans for another release, and that they are communicating it to their fans. Yup, you are right, it does speak for itself.

That still does not solve my core problem: The issues presented here are big, glaringly obvious, and should not as shipped as is with a FOMO "you can only get this if you preorder" which is a slimey tactic, and it doesn't look like they are addressing a lot of issues many people are having. Looks like they may fix some of them, which is good. Like I said at the start, if they fix all of them I'll happily be a supporter again, but maybe they should ship ready and test beforehand, not hit you with FOMO.

You don't have to buy into what you describe as FOMO if you don't want to. It's additional content. Some people purchase it as support for the team and developers and do not deem it as FOMO.

They may have been forced to ship it at the launch date they were dealt with (which is often the truth, and for a variety of reasons). So it could have been a choice to ship it now, or not at all. Which would you have preferred?

Which one would you prefer when in the future the game is working more up to your standards? Perhaps you would prefer not to have had a sequel they could work on at all?

It's not illegal to have expectations that something launches good, man. I get it was likely a higherup or some board that decided not to wait, that doesn't mean I have to accept that as a good answer or a good practice. I would've happily waited longer. I'm not budging on this. I'm tired of just passively accepting this as fact just because it happens so often these days. 1.0s should be 1.0s, not a testing beta with FOMO.

When did I ever said you should be arrested? I said having some patience and actually providing constructive criticism and bug reports (as they have mentioned in their own posts/blogs) is a better approach if you truly want to support the game and its team.

All large games come out with updates after 1.0. Even Baulder's Gate and Elden Ring, which were considered immaculate and clean launches. I have no interest in budging a rock who has no ability to roll in a windstorm. That's pointless. I am just providing an alternative point of view that has more patience and interest in the future of the game, and how players can help contribute to that in a better and more constructive way.

In fact, "man", I am glad you refunded the game, now you can stop complaining about it since you no longer own it and are unable to actually monitor its progress in-game as it's updated.
You are being pointlessly hostile here. I'm disappointed in the game, I am allowed to voice it. If they put it in a state I want to play again, I will buy it.
