URGENT: FDev, please fix the duplicated data exploit bug today

FDev, we and several other Powers are losing our systems to an exploit that is now widely known and actively being abused in the community. I urge you to look at issue 67329, which contains the exploit. It's trivial to do, and can be used for 24k merits per hour easily per Cmdr. There is a video of the exploit if you need proof linked in the reproduction steps of the report I made. One of our stronghold systems had 228,000 control points in undermining in less than 24 hours. I am aware there are other undermining methods that are roughly 10k merits per hour (such as killing fighters at strongholds), but 24k merits per hour cannot be beaten using the game.

We need you to enforce your terms of service, reverse all exploited merits, and at the very least give suspensions to Cmdrs who exploited this, if not harsher punishments for the worst offenders. If the exploit lasts over a cycle, we need for any lost systems to be returned to their rightful owner, clear of any exploited merits.

At Antal, we will not be exploiting this bug, even if it costs us systems. I ask all Powers to sign on to not using this bug.

The sad thing about this bug is that it is still slower than rare trading was last week... if they were capable of balancing the game properly the existence of this glitch wouldn't even cause much chaos.

True when the Soontil relic were usuable, but since Ngurii lost its boom state and the allocation severly reduced alongside, we are left with only the rare of Sothis and it's 45t of allocation (compared to the previous 80t of Ngurii).
The rare of Sothis cannot match the undermining pace of this exploit, add on top the balacing exploit of the SLF kill in stronghold fleet that you can make spawn indefinitely and which will reward you about 73 merit per kill (more than a normal PP ship) and WITHOUT bounty and you make absolutely all stronghold as a titanic weak spot completely undefendable atm, some stronghold system received near 80k undermining merit PER system tick, how do you want to defend against that?

It is clear that PP 2 criticaly needed an open beta before being released, and I beg FDev to never let such update of similar scale go live without proper large community testing next time.

It really baffles me why they didn't do what they normally do, and have an extensive open beta for a month or so before actual release, instead of handing it to select partners, the sole benefit of which was to 'build hype', as the Streamers just pottered from one instance to the next whilst holding court on their streams.

Absolutely absurd that this known form of TOS violation has been in circulation and widely known amongst the community for 3-4 days and there has not even been so much as a freeze on the merit acquisition as was done for trade (due to broken calculations on the development side).
It's still a bit early. But if this doesn't get fixed ASAP, the actions taken against trading, as well as exploration and exobiology data dumps start to look a lot like hypocrisy.

Previous betas were useless. Players found problems, players reported problems, final patch released with the problems unfixed regardless.

Yes I agree with OP. Find who, what, when, and where this exploit was used. Rollback all merit gains. Ban the accounts of the cheaters, and fix the issue. Thank you Fdev

Its Wednesday Frontier, please do not let these people go unpunished.
The exploit is far too widespread to expect Fdev to do a ban wave... Unless you expect them to kill off half of their dedicated player base. I wouldn't be too surprised if they roll back merits though. Regarding system damage, the only fair option would be to roll back to the last cycle and void all progress for this week, as I don't think Fdev has the tools to diagnose where the bug is being used.

care to elaborate?
I see absolutely ALL system switched to unocupied state on my side.
