"Although the Planet Tech that we have kind of address the needs of planets as they were at 3.0, but nowadays there's a lot more requirements from that tech, whether it be kind of server meshing things, base building things, habitables, persistence."

jesus fracking christ.

Here we go for another rewrite... that will have to be also rewritten after CIG comes up with whatever new jesus tech they gaslight the community with that will be necessary to fix server meshing, base building, habitables, persistence or whatever.

The funny thing is, those were all known features in 2019 when v3 was built. All presented on citcon stages and assured to be incoming soon.

It's just they've rebuilt all of them from scratch too ;)

Planet Tech: Versing No.4

Q: Is all of this still R&D with clever renders or is this technology at a stage where it could potentially be used to actually build a planet at this point?

TLDR:
No. We're rebuilding it allll.

What a great big ball of Friday night bull ;)
10 years late, 700M$ budget, and only now....

"...we're transitioning to more of a kind of milestone based approach, where .... we can start kind of taking chunks of tech and finishing it..."

Oh my.

('...kind of...' begs the question as to what approach they were using before? The 'throw mud at a wall' approach? Or the 'make that pixel blue' technique....)

Lol, someone finally picked up a book on Agile development.

Are they using some AI in any form? I suspect they will someday come up with some Magic AI npc...

EPTU Wave 1 is looking sparsely populated, Berks has:

So 66 players in the server, 124 total. They haven't got much above 100 on the server in the whole session, though apparently people are having issues getting in. At least 2 server recoveries so far.

I guess Wave 1 is still just Legatus & subscribers added to evo die-hards. Seems there's a limited number who'll pay $10 (or $25K ;)) for advanced jank access...
