Didn't you say:And your point is? (not sarcasm, I literally have no idea what point you are making).

Only if every other established games developer releases perfect products and updates every time...
Egosoft can manage it ... to name one company.
Hello Games can do it for No Man's Sky
Mojang can do it for Minecraft
And that's just the main games I play. I am sure there's lots of other examples of companies that can update their games without the problems Frontier seem to have.
"Don't play on patch day" pre-dates ED by a good decade. No company is perfect, and they all release a bad patch or have a rough update at some point, but this is the only game I know of and play where everyone knows not to play on patch day, because everyone knows it will be unplayable for hours after.
It really should be something they look to sort out, but then again you could say that about many of the bugs on the issue tracker.
That's precisely what happens when a developer doesn't take a holistic approach with regards to balancing the various aspects of their game. So, you need a meta to feed another meta all while FD is trying to decrease metas.
So just ignoring what i said then. This isnt a frontier issue, this is a "this is why all games have server issues at launch and post updates" issue. Theres only so much available bandwidth possible to go out between servers and players and a server increase can only do so much for a network issue.I will admit I know nothing about games development and server infrastructure. if I did, I'd have more money than I do now.
Frontier DO KNOW about that stuff though, it's literally their job.
If I was poor at my job, my boss would call me in to talk about it. Then there'd be re-training if I continued to be poor at my job. Then there'd be company disicpline procedure, then I'd be unemployed. Yet people give Frontier a pass time and time again? I expect better from Frontier. It's not like they are new to doing this (making games).
I must be lucky then, because I've been online gaming way before that, and never played anything that used that phrase."Don't play on patch day" pre-dates ED by a good decade.
Seems like the balancing is already happening - see the reports about ship scanning buffs, for instance. There is apparently no need for patches to tweak the merit numbers, the update deals with stuff that actually need a client update, like fixing the dupe exploit or the CTD of the strategic view.I am assuming that what was stated in the Update Notes is what has been patched in this update the Ascendancy Update 1.
The actual balancing is yet to be implemented? Mauve Adder again. BBL
