General Combat in pp 2.0?

I am so glad that every type of game play mechanic is in pp 2.0, what about adding combat too?
I didn’t do pp before and I hate that I am forced to do it now because there is no other game play unless I want to be boring and explore.
I am a combat pilot and I am disappointed that pp has no combat options.
Kill power ships (if you can find one and they don’t run away)
Dropping on power signals that have no ships in them or sitting outside a station playing system security simulator waiting for power ships to spawn in is not the most interesting gameplay.
I want to thank fdev for ruining BGS as well so now it is pointless to keep your faction in control of a system because there is no benefit to the powers any more.
Take Pp offline and rethink it please. thanks.

Sorry, I only suggest to scrap pp2.0 and rethink it or if not, can we have more pp signals sources maybe mini power czs just so combat pilots have something to do.
 
Any bounties count so you can just pop into a HazRES or take pirate massacre missions and the kills will all get you merits.

I understand a Power CZ will give better merits/ship but I haven’t tried one yet.

Go to a strongold system, find the stronghold carriers and take on the power ships.
 
Mini power CZs, instead of these [long long long loooooooooooooooooong] ones (and sometimes even broken) yeah!

For powerplay ships, you need alpha-strike DPS + something to kill drives/FSD otherwise they run.

PvP combat has so far been quite fun anyway (at least for us).
 
Oh some are really not easy, it seems to depend upon a dice role, but the things that the threat level 5 NPC's do are some really rather cool AI behaviour, I'm finding anyhow. Some of the harder ones will run away after you've put in a lot of effort bringing down their large prismatic, heavily banked shields.

Not always high-wake either, I had a krait the other fly away from me at full speed in a very gradual arc, releasing mines. Not something that I'd seen before, nor even contemplated as a tactic. Great stuff to learn things from watching them fly! I was only able to catch him because of the speed of my ship, a very fast phantom, and the slow turn that he was making made him really hard to hit with plasma.

The eagles and vipers are some of the trickiest fights, especially when they are in wings, they do give good merits though, making it more than worth the effort to catch them.

Oh and good combat pilots also know when to leave a fight, so that they can live to fight another day; 'To the death' is a bit of an unreal tournament thing, you can't get enough competition to make death matched a viable option, on top of that the authorities frown upon all the scorched flesh and bloodstains, and the wreckage floating about, it's why we do our duty in helping to clear some of it up.

That you are so easily in a 'bored' state, is something that you need to learn about, examine and eventually question, not FDev.

Sounds like a combat option.

If they keep running away, maybe you should “git gud” and stop them running.

I don’t call myself a combat pilot, because I’m not very good, but even I can stop an NPC from running away. 🤷‍♂️
I can’t get good above combat elite 5 cmdr.
 
There is absolutely no reason not to train AI on human pilots, and create NPC aces. Well perhaps other than the cost of building the model.
My guess is that if this were done and unbridled, humanity is utterly done, it is game over.
You can do without AI, just give them engineering modules and weapons.
 
You can get combat merits by defending or attacking mega ships or space installations. Drop in - wait a moment - after a moment there comes a message like in CZ which side you want to support - have fun - gain merits.

Nothing wrong with the direction of PP2, plenty of combat options, Power CZs are fun.

Power czs are fun when you eventually get one, Flying around, looking for power signals then dropping on power signal to find no ships no shoot or playing system security simulator and waiting outside a station for kills.
Can we have more signals with higher threats or have mini style czs that act like signal sources.

Would propose to somewhat ignore threat number.
Last Sunday while being on weeklies (pods) I was looking for Power Wreckage Signals in reinforcement system and saw at least 3 called like "CZ <Power> vs <Power> Threat N". Have not checked those. Then I dropped in PWS for opposing Power with Thread 1(!) and got immediately attacked by wing of Anaconda+FDL+something. I managed to run with only few % of shields, but I believe that is exactly what you are looking for.
