I had the geyser version of this happen to some mat that I had targeted when it fell into the geyser, I was lucky enough to see it disappear off the radar going almost straight up where it vanished out of range. Some time later I was heading back to the ship and saw a mat lying on the ground nowhere near where I had see one heading for the stars.

Point being your missing mat is probably not going to stay in the few hundred metres range of your sensors.

Yeah, it might yeet out of your range, or it might not. /shrug

In my experience the 'not' is the far more likely outcome, but of course YMMV and external factors like geysers giving it an extra kick can indeed send stuff on a one way trip into Narnia. :)

We have identified an issue where certain actions are being excessively used for Powerplay gains.

In order to investigate and resolve this issue we are temporarily suspending Powerplay gains via the following methods:
  • Rare Goods Trading
  • Settlement Data Delivery This is now enabled
  • Escape Pods
Once we have resolved this issue these options will be enabled again.

Thank you for your continued reports and feedback on Powerplay 2.0.

PP2 forced me to do it and now i like it.
Pods are suspended, same as Search and rescue.
Pods nerfed, no more Search and rescue.

I enjoy the Search & Rescue (sometimes amidst combat) in PP wreckage zones too. But don't worry, it's coming back (y)
 
for the next update, it would be nice to improve localisation. Here is an example :
This is the english and the french version of power cargo for the Archer. Patreus ? Hudson ? Incomprehensible for some.
And again, this is just an example.
Some other languages have probabibly the same problems.

What is up with weekly Rescue Escape Pods from Chac Ciml System. I gathered 11 and returned them to a power contact in Kokomundji and the weekly task did not complete. Got zero credit toward the completion of the task.
 
Looking at Strategic View, LHS 1951 is in range of the Winters Fortified system at LHS 1928 (and for an even bigger party, the Torval system at Baxbakaeris could also join in)

So it's possible that Winters has also passed the conflict threshold, but only the top two Powers are shown on the leaderboard?
 
Yeah, that's the issue: Winter is way below the conflict threshold, so she should not be present in any power CZs in this system, according to the galmap.
She only shows up on your screen (but not on mine) in the first place, because you are pledged to her.

Yet there are no Archer vs Mahon CZs here (which should be), only Mahon vs Winter ones (which should not exist here).
 
One week later. The investigations must be extremely difficult. I guess the excessively used left over actions will not be enabled again until the next cycle.
 
1.2 mio merrits in one week. Excessively used action disabled. What was it for now?
Remember this is the first week with the 4x multiplier to personal merit sources, so on the scale of previous weeks that's only a bit over 300,000 merits.

Someone who spent the entire week doing nothing much but playing Elite Dangerous 12 hours a day would only need 3.5k system merits (14k personal) per hour, which even fairly non-optimised approaches can get.

Selling of rare goods is a part of my weekly assignment! How many more times will you stifle our ability to earn merits? This is a continuation that allowed the few that were able to make level 100+ and have all the equipment unlocked in the first week due to rare goods sales while holding the rest of us back from achieving the same goal. When are you going to make this a fair accumulation of merits? I am growing closer to requesting a refund of this game and the arx that have been purchased. At this time, it feels like an intentional attack on commanders that can only afford casual play of the game because we have real life responsibilities to attend to in our lives. At this point, for our continual and intentional hold backs from game advancement, I believe some sort of allowance for us to get level 100+ should be given so we can unlock the equipment we need to play the game; or be gifted 200,000 arx currency be awarded us in lieu of the merits to reach level 100+. I look forward to one of these solutions be given in the next few days! Thank you.
 
Temporarily suspending merit gains on these activities while the devs are working on a solution is definitely the right thing to do. (y)

But I gotta add, in a perfect world, this action should have been taken sooner.
I disagree. This is blatant disregard for casual playing commanders that were unable to to get level 100+ in the first week. Those commanders keep the level status while the rest of us suffer and scrape by on 20 merits for a ship scan.
 
Top CMDR for my power hit 2 million.

This is the issue with “balancing” the grind … I struggle to hit 30k in a week so will take months to get the modules I want but other folks appear to do absolutely nothing except play Elite!!

30k merits is like 1 hour of core mining or npc farming in a power cz or in a stronghold carrier instance.

It's truly hard to balance anything for players who cannot even play 1 hour a week.
