Fleet Carrier Range

Wouldn't it be nice for a Fleet Carrier to be able to jump the total range of its fuel, in a single jump?
Instead of a 15 or longer minute wait to go 500-ly max, with a 15 min cooldown, wouldn't it be nice to jump up to the 1,000 ton tank's range in 1 jump, if so desired?

1. The in-game time savings would be immense.
2. It would allow players more time to explore, in a 1:1 galaxy that hasn't really been full explored.

Thoughts?

No.

You are exaggerating how much of the galaxy has been explored at all let alone fully explored if we measured our exploration percentage in whole numbers only we have explored zero percent.

Thoughts?
Not an idea that has been popular enough to interest FDev in the years since FCs were added.

Slippery slope to make the game trivial, i like that it takes time to get somewhere.

I use my carrier to travel (well I usually instruct it to follow me around the galaxy). Having a 500ly range is as much as I've ever needed to reach the distant stars at the edge of the rim although I've not been to Racham's peak I can imagine having the ability to jump further would solve the problem of carriers getting stuck on the route there.

I think giving players the ability to send their carrier somewhere they potentially cannot reach & have the carrier needing to be refuelled at the end (so unable to be called back) is a potential downside of being able to empty its tank in one go but that's something that can already be done (albeit this proposal would make it a bit easier to make that mistake) so that's not really a factor.

Making long trips with a single jump would reduce the server load from players that are currently chaining jumps together, and Jacques got to what we now call Colonia with a single jump so it's not a lore conflict either.

Do it imo, happy for the time taken to be based on some similar calculation to ship transfer but any players travelling with the carrier while it jumps probably should be able to do more than sit in their seat & twiddle their thumbs while the jump is progressing. Maybe just increase the countdown time & have the actual jump part take the same time it currently does?

Hard to see a solid downside really, unless there's some technical limitation on range (can't imagine why there would be).

tbh the main QoL I'd like to see would be an auto-refueller so I don't have to switch to a T-9/Cutter just to refuel from the cargo hold every few thousand ly.

How the more jumprange in one jump can let us explore MORE stars?
You can just reach different places faster, but still you will explore as much as you spend time on exploration. Usual practice of my teammates is to explore near the route of the fleet carrier, so it's not like that they are waiting whole day for all jumps finished.

More not-first-discovered-mapped-and walked on systems. That's why people want the range. Also, Bubble to Colonia weekends.

Hmm.... ok, if you want to do fast jump our from the Bubble do two hours of exploration and go back... For long-time exploration it doesn't matter.

With ship jump ranges doubling, and the introduction of neutron star boosting, the galaxy has already become significantly smaller than it was originally. When the game was launched, getting to Beagle Point took literally weeks, if not months. Nowadays you can do the trip in something like 5 hours with relative ease with a good ship (and the world record is less than 3h).

Let's not make it even smaller. Let it remain a big place.
