this won't be for this CG as it's too late but does anyone have any advice for an FDL bomber build.
mine is currently thrown together with bits I already had.
I would like to keep with the FDL but ideally get it running a bit cooler.

I don't own an FDL, so I don't know how cool they normal run. But the main component of 'cool' is a Low Emissions PP. Maybe play with Thermal Spread or Monstered to see what works for a balance of cool and power for weapons...

There's still a few days left, so...

EDIT: Bizarrely, I didn't see your EDSY link before. Yup, Low Emission with Thermal Spread works nicely with the 6A PP. I wouldn't personally bother with the Beam Laser. It'll just aggro the Titan unnecessarily, and you don't want that.

You do realise this is the last titan (for now)?
Cold running= Low Emissions PP & Clean Drives and probably a shielded distributor.
 
Clean Drives
Normally these are discouraged due to increasing passive heat through higher power draw, but the FDL still keeps a 500+ boost speed and safely remains within the 20% normally required by Thargoids using clean tuning under normal thrust, so it's probably fine. Just don't expect to outrun Basilisks with it if one gets curious... and normally dirty drives are preferred for their speed.

Beam laser, I'd actually go with a C2 instead of 3 and throw a size 3 missile rack into that slot instead, seems like the C2 beam is enough to control a ship's heat while boosting or just regular thruster use, at least when combined with low emissions plant. If you plan on running solo it could be a better idea to follow the above of not using one because it will just keep the Titan more upset and prevents patrols from leaving the instance (which I believe they do too easily but that is the way Frontier made things). However, that does also result in a lot of used heatsinks, so, personal preference rules.

... shielded distributor appears rather unnecessary though, whereas the standard charge enhanced will perform its usual functions well. Maybe also consider throwing ammo capacity on the caustic sinks for further protection from that, and/or drop one for second heatsink if desired.

on previous Titans I used this FDL, it allowed me to get 400arx per heart

morning (or what ever local time it is to you) all. 1 last question, this one relating to the tiers.

roughly where is the top 25% starting at at the moment? inara has 75% topping out at a massive 42k which will be beyond me.
but 25% starting at 24k which may be a target I can aim for. does anyone have a rough idea which number is more accurate?

PS I really hope this does not fail. I want those drives. don't get me wrong it's good that CGs can fail however if this one does it will only have done so because FD went in and artificially boosted the health of the titan.

I get why they did it and I don't blame them for giving players longer to get involved.... but NOT at the expense of artificially causing the CG to fail.

Not when coupled with a low emissions PP, the effect on thermal signature is clear if you use EDSY. Speed difference is marginal, the main issue is the increased mass reducing jump range.

Check my post above, and here’s some math: 5 heat vents closed, 3 shards salvos = 6-7M easily. Means 15 ammo need per run, and you have 180 ammo per large shard. You will need synth heat sinks, but in single Titan visit you can solo do enormous amount of damage …

Not with these Titan builds. Between most running shieldless and the weapons not being extreme power hogs like gauss or the modified shards/plasmas are, low emissions does not need anything so niche as a shielded power distributor here, at least on an FDL. Once you're inside you can turn off things like the FSD and if you have them, repair limpet and AFMU during runs anyway/when hardpoints are deployed.

And I did look at the clean drives figure which changed my post some, making me think those are fine for the FDL there without an issue.

that is impressive but my ship isn't optimally engineered and not unlocked the broker weapons yet . if titans continue to be a thing I will work on my build (tho will likely be sticking with the FDL , it's a bit OCD but I want to have a genuine use for each ship in the game and like to sit in different cockpits .

I was quite nervous about trying this Titan bombing m’larkey but did my first runs in the AXI PG and it was surprisingly straight-forward.

Several other CMDRs in the instance closing vents - folks seemed to fire their TV beam at one to “claim” it so you then just go “claim” another and, well I dunno how many we got but the most I ever needed to hit was 2 and all the others looked done … pop over (under?) the side and spam missiles at the “pineapple” and then run away to the asteroids to pop some repair limpets and wait for the reset.

Most I got in a single core-damage cycle was 5 million and that’s with the pre-engineered AX Missiles from the Shinrata defence CG, not Shards.

Spent maybe 45 minutes at most doing this and hit 19k in CG contributions. Will definitely be returning to try and get past the 42k mark.
 
Is any one else getting a problem with no contributions for attacking Cocijo?

I've made (I think) 6 runs today with no credit reward and no advance in the CG amount that is linked to it.

Initially I assumed that this was a multi-player issue, but now I've made 2 good runs in solo, hit 4-5 vents, smacked the pineapple at close range, got the blue torus response - no rewards of any kind.

It's a shame as I really wanted to help push this along, but I think I may as well give up on Cocijo as I'm not achieving anything. I'm hoping that this isn't a widescale problem that means we miss out of defeating the last titan this week.
