Mines? Which mines? Are there mines?
Yes, you are expected to pick your way through a cloud of acid filled with heatseeking mines. Congratulations and welcome to the fleet!
You need a ship that idles at less than 20% heat, and ideally has good self-repair facilities (limpets and AFMU). Krait Mk2 and Imperial Clipper work well but there are many builds out there.
There are three "zones" near the Titan:
(Outer) Normal space outside the caustic minefield.
(Middle) A caustic minefield that does constant caustic damage, and is filled with heat-seeking mines that expel stronger caustic clouds and will
mess you up if they get close and detonate. Visibility is very limited in the caustic minefield. Signals and navigation will be messed up. Head toward the angry red cloud with lightning.
(Inner) Once you have used the Thargoid Pulse Neutralizer to get through the Titan's pulses (4 pips to sys and hold the pulse neutralizer hotkey down), you are in an asteroid field where - good news - there's no caustic, but - bad news - there are many interceptors, scouts, missiles and turrets around the titan.
It took me a while to realise that I needed to take multiple pulses, and probably boost toward the titan. Watch your speed indicator to see how fast you're being slowed down or pushed back; the timing for the pulse neutralizer can be tricky at first. 4 pips to sys and hold it down, to give yourself a bigger time window to get through the pulse. Also, remember that there's a trade-off - boosting will get you through the caustic quicker, but you'll also rise over 20% heat and attract mines.
Good luck!
