10 Years of Elite Dangerous

Not necessarily... I've gotten that mail only for one of my (main) alt commanders but not for my main and also not for my other (main)alt... 🤷‍♂️

Came here for this. I use accounts on Steam and Epic and didn't receive any mail yet. Will we get those mails at all? Cuz it looks interesting.
My account is also through Steam and I haven't received such an email. I can't find anywhere in my ED/Frontier account settings to check whether I have emails enabled :/ Would love to see my stats!

In fact, this probably says more about the high attrition rate of ED players than my trading skills :)
I think the huge number (was it 8 million or so?) of given-away-for-free accounts on Epic might explain the statistics a bit - but it’s nice to be told you’re near the top of something anyway 😁

My best stat is for my most-flown ship - the Cobra Mk3 - more than 99.9% of Commanders, apparently. I was a bit puzzled at first by my very low Thargoid kill-count (I’ve been quite busy on that front since Sol got invaded) but then I noticed the disclaimer at the bottom of the post, “Data correct as of 1st December” - which would also explain my low death rate number as well 😅

Sorry, but you always have to add - try SСO only on ships designed for SСO. On regular ships it is a very moot point.

It's a game changer even on regular ships, to try and say it isn't is bizarre. You get the same or more jump range as a regular FSD, with the added benefit of zooming away the moment you jump into SC near a planet, zooming past that star you just jumped to for using the FSS, sure for long distance in-system travel it is a bit hairy, but it still worked if you used it right. The Cobra V is of course the best in the business now as far as SCO is concerned, but that was always going to be the case, the old ships are now, for the most part, obsolete except for specific uses such as passenger transport and hauling big loads, but that's to be expected. I mean you don't buy a 1960's Oldsmobile because it is a high performance car or handles great, you buy it because you love classic cars, but you certainly wouldn't drive it every day! That's what the old ships are now, classics to be admired and sometimes pulled out for the love, not everyday drivers.

If I drive an old car with a top speed of 100 km/h, my engine doesn't pull any more than that. I change the engine to a more powerful one, and keep going at 100, because if I do 150, my car will just fall apart.

If you use your new engine judiciously you might find you can boost your speed to 145 for a few seconds and then let the old car gradually slow down to its customary 100 (while watching your fuel gauge and checking for smoke and flames) before boosting to 145 again for another round, and so considerably shorten your journey time while at the same time avoiding catastrophe.

You might even get to enjoy practicing judging your bursts and getting skill in timing them so you don't whizz past your destination!

I'm still puzzled by your most recent posts on this subject, because I thought you had indicated above that you got it, and now it seems you're essentially saying the same as you did at the start - that SCO is only useful on new ships.
So just to be really clear, when I said SCO had transformed supercruise for me, I meant having never yet tried it on the new ships, cos I've yet to buy one.
Using it for 5 seconds here and there to shave many tens of seconds and even minutes off a trip, and most importantly off the most boring bits, is truly transforming my experience.

Are we writing about distances of 300-1000 ?
