Elite Dangerous | Cobra MK V Update - 12 December 2024

a need for tactical core chips and a general availability of them to go with it would be just grand imo
another cool thing would be that the launcher reflected the server ofline status when the servers are offline

I only agreed with a quick launch from a planet, especially if the destination system is on the other side of the planet.

All my attempts during a normal turn on the SCО flight, caused either flying past the target.
(on newer ships, I have good control over acceleration and can brake in time)
or underflight, which greatly diminishes the usefulness of this impulse.

Just like traveling quickly without SCO is an acquired skill, so is traveling quickly with it. The benefits about attempting both is that even if you fail to get it perfect, you’re still going to get to your destination quicker than if you never make the attempt in the first place.

The greatly reduced interdiction attempts are simply a nice bonus.

I really thought that with the thargoid threat over for the time being, FDev might have tried fixing the BGS. It has been broken since PP2.0 was introduced. Without any means of expansion, it really makes BGS a bit pointless.

At least you participated in the CZ on your feet?
I tried some both just after Odyssey launched, my computer wasn’t up to it, and after I had got a better computer I wasn’t that interested.

And there was also a pirate CG where they gave it away for free.
I don’t do piracy so I would have missed out on that, in fact I haven’t done any of the CGs with a free ship reward, I did one with a cheap T9 as a reward once.

Not sure if you're referring to me, but I was answering your point about it being moot, which I took to mean that they were useless for non-natively SCO capable ships. For sure, they're not the same but that doesn't mean they still can't be useful. I have an SCO drive in my Cutter and I can use it without overshooting my destination, so it's certainly the case that your experience is anecdotal to you rather than being definitive.

Same here.
Yes they are not the same, the ship shakes and verges, but in all the old ships it takes me out of the suns and gravitation fields, and can be used to shorten the long distances.
So it's all legit - the old ships do benefit from SCO, not as much as new ones built after the SCO invention, but still very very useful.

Same here as well. I’ve got enough data from Buckyball Racing that even overshooting is still quicker than my faster times without it, and that’s using normal, non-SCO specialized ships. When I’m particularly on the ball, SCO is shaving a full minute off what I consider my baseline station-to-station flight time.

Which is kind of ironic, given that my typical PowerPlay pattern actually has me flying slightly slower so I can take advantage of easy merit opportunities along my flight path. ;)

I wrote that they are of little use. That is, you can use it occasionally.
After flying the new ships for SCO and taking into account starting from planets, I rate the usefulness as 1/9.

I have noticed that ever since the Cobra Mk V update dropped I have been unable to take high resolution screenshots in either private or solo modes by pressing Alt F10 as I used to be able to. Is this a bug or as designed?

Updates often reset things like Graphic settings, key bindings etc at least in my experience.

I've been getting at least 5 "Adder" crashes (which causes me to have to rebuild my route) per 2 hours of game play. I've had as many as 10, and it always happens during a hyperjump. PLEASE, Frontier, FIX this.
