Stairs!

Can we have the the flume platform stairs as normal stairs too please. Many rides and parks use stair cases but the pathing tool will not create clean, tight, square staircases and wastes so much space. Seeing as you've already built this tech into the game with flume platforms can you implement it into pathing as well.

You can do that :)

The flume platform has two entry styles. One with the ladder from the ground to the top of the platform and another. If you place the platform on top of a hill or at ground level, you can add a normal ride entrance to it. Then just make a nice looking path leading up the hill (y)

I think you're talking about something entirely different :)

I'm not so sure. The idea still requires the ride entrance rather than the staircase entrance. It is possible to build a similar square style of stairs. Or a round set. Anything goes :)

I was about to say congratulate you on an great find but but I can't get it to work :(. See below, the flume platform will not join onto a coaster station and when you click add entrance it says paths can't cross so the collision is stopping the join. Also the flume platform only creates a staircase as part of the ride entrance so it couldnt be used for a normal path starcase unfortunatly. I still think seeing as the stairs system is already programmed into the game it should be pretty simple to make this part of the pathing tool though - FDevs?

You could connect that flume platform to the station but it would still require a small amount of pathing in between the two. To the best of my knowledge, trying to fit the platform directly to the coaster station isn't really any different from trying to attach a wooden coaster piece to a steel one. Can't put two rides together.

You can change the flume platform entry type by pressing CTRL when placing the entrance (y) So it will go against a path like this

Connecting your Platform to the coaster station might need something more like......

Even if it's really thin amount of space....

Everything is possible :) The more creative you get and the more you shove it around and force it to do what you want, in the end it will look better and better.

thanks for your help MrHappy but these are not quite what I mean. Here's another picture (ignore my rubbish photoshop job  ) of what I'm trying to explain. Its stairs directly linked to the station like on the right, or to a path like on the left . Both used without an entrance so they are part of geneal paths. You'll see my mess of stairs made with the pathing tool on the left and its just fugly, would be much better to have the flume stairs useable as stairs for paths.

Picture 2 is the best I could do using the path tool and its huge! I couldn't get it to work with the queue path as it just kept giving collsion errors when trying to make square connections.

Thanks for the deeper details. OK. Well that's confused me 😂 It's the first time I've seen those stairs connected directly to a path OR the coaster station and my game doesn't seem to want to do that haha. So no, sorry, I can't help much :ROFLMAO:

Interesting. Looking!

Don't worry its me photoshopping not real in game. I've found another cheat and that if you delete the flume the staircase stayed so then I thought I'd see if it would attach to the ride station but that didn't work either. You can see it just won't let the ride or a ride entrance attach to the platform to use a stairs :(

Also see that @BrettC who was a great forum staff member in getting things fixed in PC1 has not been online since 2019 :( @davidbraben we need you back to make this game amazing please

I'm so sorry mate I am totally lost now 😂 But I think I am onto the basic idea of using a pool stair case as a regular stair case. I guess it's just an integral pool piece. I mean, we can't swap to a staircase entrance on all other rides. But yeah you're right. Maybe it would be useful. Those stair cases above only took a few minutes each though.

@blobalbob Closest I could come using regular pathing. Tall also so you can chop it down to any size. 2m wide only but with 4m edge at the top and bottom for easy fitting. The missing corner in the pic is fixed. Use the advanced move arrows to shift and rotate it anywhere that it needs to be. Merge any path shapes, stations or platforms at the top or bottom. These are 8m fixed length. 4m fixed length doesn't work. Didn't try 6m but give it a try, could get better value (y) (y) (y)

Thanks MrHappy looking good. I also found Tagid has done a spiral version with a work around too. These are great but would have been simpler for them to just include it I the game. I remember even RCT had the ability to use stairs, remember clicking and holding the shift key to raise the staircase!

HUGE RESPECT to @tagi3d for what he is creating. Check out his Youtube if you've not seen and his Drone show! He's managed to pull off a Spiral staircase from the path tool and we can now have stairs up to a coaster or ride platform. Still a bit janky to connect the station to and I'm sure wit a bit of tweaking we can make it look better but at least its going in the right direction. Still think FDevs should make this a simple click option in paths rather than needing super brains like @tagi3d to work this out though!

@blobalbob Yeah for sure Respect to Tagi3d. I am thinking he might just be a brain in a jar 😂 He's excellent at finding the nooks and crannies in the game. I tried the spiral version also and it does work well. Maybe one benefit with the oblong version is the ability to have several paths coming off it at different heights due to the level parts. But they do work as well as each other generally speaking
