Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

CIG best get Magic Montreal on the phone or something. Whenever stuff like this is getting the upvotes, sentiment is sizzling...

Star citizens is not a game anymore

It's an amusement park, where the rides are in different states of disrepair. The mini games are absolutely bonkers, and the food is all stale.

But there is a sign on the front gate informing everyone that repairs and upgrades will be here next week, and the date says 2012, but it's 2024

SC will never have the horrendous repetition we see in other procedural generation games. Instead SC will just copy paste the same bases in the Best Damned Copy Paste Ever !! The fidelity!

Oh my, found one in the wild.

There is more variety just in stanton than in the whole Elite Dangerous.

More content in a single crater on Stanton than the whole of Skyrim vibes.

LOL, and when someone pushes back on that part of the comment the OP starts saying, but how does that relate to the other part of his comment. Guy says, i'm not talking about other part of your comment, i'm addressing that part of the comment. OP then says, ok, we are taking about different things then, without actually defending the more variety in SC comment.

Not trying to victim blame here but why on earth are you trying to grind anything when the game is obviously in an unstable state? Take a break mate. Zyloh said they are back now and working on fixes, 4.0.1 is supposed to be in PTU by the end of next week. Relax.

"PLAYABLE NOW"

I feel like people should just post that every time someone tries this sort of defense.

They did a follow up vid. It's basically 10 minutes solid of bug mash ups...

Non-responsive / undead NPCs, minutes of gun state toggling, locations failing to load, ships and heads disappearing, NPCs magically appearing, loot menus never appearing....
Totally worth it, that vid has no dull moment! 😄 I particularly like him arriving at an invisible outpost without a head.

Also, remember a long time ago... "SC´s AI is broken. But no worries it is a server FPS issue, server meshing will fix it" ?

30+ server FPS and AI still broken.

I liked how the NPCs slowly circled the crawling player corpse at the end, obviously nervous that this zombie would attack them. I've never experienced a situation like that with the AI in Elite 😄.
In the 40 years I've been playing computer games, I've never experienced that in any game of any genre or description...ever. It's the one and possibly only case where the acolytes of The Faith can truly claim, 'never been done before'.

Star citizen, reinventing and redefining brokenness one patch at a time

Some Shooty shooty.... no idea what i'm supposed to be doing here but....

Again the colour is off due to HDR, My AMD GPU doesn't convert a HDR recorded image to SDR and Youtube is bad at picking up a HDR recording, RX 7800 XT.

I realised later the guy crouching by the door that i killed was a player, he owned the Warden that was parked there.

A bit like me playing Stalker 2 at the moment...no idea at all what I'm supposed to be doing :D

That's the Carl Jones departure all official then...

Maybe he's copped the blame for CR's Manchester studio excess ;)

Their top management including Chris Roberts are delusional.

"Raise over $1Bn from various sources". Does this mean the actual funding is over $1 billion? He helped get as much money from uninformed space sim gamers as possible with macro-transactions for concept ships. Many of these ships are still not in-game. Jones lead the predatory business model to sell dreams and deception to backers. They released fancy scripted trailers to deceive gamers to buy their super buggy, unstable, alpha phase software.

"over 1100 highly skilled and experienced staff in 5 studios across the world". If they are so skilled why has CIG not released 1 finished game yet after 12 years? They hired a lot of inexperienced staff as well.
