Pirates spawning in 100% of time when you drop into a planet or ring is extremely unrealistic and breaks my sense of immersion.

Nothing like being in an SRV on a completely UN-inhabited planet, calling in your ship, and as soon as it spawns in so do 4 pirate contacts. Or being 1.5k LY from the bubble, dropping into a random spot on a gas giant ring, only to instantly have 2 pirates and a random mining NPC appear on your radar. Or to enter super cruise glide to a random moons surface and watch pirates spawn and despawn every 5km as you're on the decent. I could go on and on and on about these spawns.

I understand the idea behind this to provide challenge, but even doing something as simple as making them spawn 30% of the time would go a really long way towards improving immersion. Or maybe increase the chance of the spawn based on your reputation in the system? IDK, anything other then the current system would be so much better.

Concur. Spawn rate should be 5-15%

Not familiar with that but then I rarely dismiss my ship or get to auto dismiss range.

Yes the ‘coincidence’ is jarring, but as long as you don’t assume you are safer there than in the bubble they aren’t an actual problem.

I am a bit far out now but I must watch for this, I tend to be so focused on my flying during a planetary approach that I haven’t really noticed that.

I suspect to feel immersive or at least not be jarring the rules would need to be more complicated to allow for uninhabited systems in the heart of the bubble and places right out in the black that are or aren’t on the way to somewhere.

What makes me laugh is when you arrive at the marker in Sag A, pirates spawn in low level combat ships. How did they get all the way out there with their 12ly jump ranges, and how are they going to get back with their stolen cargo? I pity anybody that went all the way out there and picked up some useful cargo on the way, or had some of those tasty limpets from a few years back, and got caught with their trousers down.

I got thargoid-hyperdicted between star systems; not in a system at all ...and random NPCs still spawned

So yeah... NPC spawns are very "wrong" right now, even if not technically broken. It's lower priority than a QoL bug, but the statistical ridiculousness constantly in your face means it's not nothing either

I heard it was introduced with one of the recent updates, so I assume it will get tweaked to a slightly more reasonable level soon enough (a few months). Enjoy the party while it's crowded! :)

I agree it’s dumb and lazy. There needs to be a much, much greater variety of random events that happen and dangers to be faced (or boons to be discovered) out in the black. I’d pay for a DLC that would add a large variety of much needed gameplay.

Dumb, yes. Lazy, how? They actually had to write code to make that happen.

Anyway, OP, agree its silly, but can we please stop with these "but muh immershun" reasons? Just explain why something needs changing. There's a ton of stuff in the game that technically speaking is immersion breaking if you think about it, but people are fine with.

funny. having npcs in the game makes my immersion of living in an active populated space.
theres also a somewhat large area of the game where npcs dont spawn. ever considered moving there?

If you're 1.5k LY away and still see pirates, that means there's some colonized system closer.
I think there's a chance they will spawn if you're around 300 LY from such system.
