Its happening again, isn't it? (Asp Lego)

I have some familiarity with that issue.
Luckily, I've found a fantastic method that lets me reduce the volume of the volumes* significantly.

*Sorry not sorry about the bad pun.
The space issue is merely an inconvenience, books are heavy.
Removals companies use much smaller boxes for books than for other objects.

There are tales of SF fans whose apartment floors had bowed under the weight of books.

There was one of these home makeover shows on UK TV where they installed a glass and steel wire suspended shelving system, put the clients treasures on and the shelves looked under used so they added a few books to some of the shelves.
The next scene was the designer going to see the client to apologise for all the breakages.

That sounds both ridiculous and funny.

Lego Asp also has my approval. I would refrain from installing the thought module though, for fear it might become sentient and demand to be seen superior to all other creations. Not that I'd know what it would do if you refused. Scatter the pointiest and hardest to see of Lego bricks all over the house, probably.

At the risk of stating the obvious, the problem is books are dense.
You have a box full of crockery or ornaments, it's likely more than half the volume of the box is just air.
With books, there's almost no air within each book and, because of their shape, you can pack books tightly so the box is almost entirely filled.
Basically, you might as well be carrying a 3'x2'x2' lump of wood.

The only thing removals people fear more than books is vinyl records, for all the same reasons plus they're fragile. 😟

The only trouble now is I have another ship in the works, the Boa (which takes cues from the Anaconda in ED but is scaled down).

my little current physical space ship project is 3d printing a fully articulating ship i extracted out of nms that matches my in game ship i found. it has moving landing legs and will have to have magnetically attached wings because they literally disconnect from the ship, rotate and flip and reconnect on takeoff and landing.

so much manual mesh editing ahead.
I'd consider Lego but it would probably end up costing more to buy the parts than even hire someone to do this for me. and my anaconda parts won't really work.

for lego stuff, do you just have tons of conveniently appropriate parts for ships or use a particular site to buy as needed?

ANOTHER ship interiors thread?!

(Nice work as always Rubbernuke 👍)

Love it!!! My wife, son, and I love our legos! Just last night I bought the Ultimate collection edition of the Razor Crest! 6800 pieces is way out of my league, but, I wanted it….

I have 5 Star Wars space ships and would love to see Elite and Star Citizen ships as legos :)

So keep it going, and keep posting…

Just watching a programme about a book printing factory and they just said a premium hardback edition of Pride and Prejudice has over 540 grams of paper not including covers etc.
