I'm afraid its common that we ask you to go to our Discords for support, as its much easier to have an interactive conversation and help debug things there. We have found that much simpler. Support via the forums is slow and difficult and I for one do not provide it for EDD.
That's just how we like doing it. That will be the quickest way to get results.
Yeah, I'm aware that you prefer Discord, and I accept that it has its moments.
In this instance of course, it isn't even an issue/bug with EDSY but with the game itself, though that wasn't obvious at first.
To have had someone raise the question and get an answer over on Discord would have done nothing to educate the rest of us, which is my main gripe. For every person that raises any given query on a forum, there are probably a few more that find their answer in previous posts on the topic. That "win" is totally blown away if you use Discord because it's a walled garden.
For sure, interactive conversations are
great on Discord, and that's really all it's fit for. Helping/tutoring someone who is unable to get a feature working may well be tackled most efficiently (and quickly) by that means.
However, a query like this one (a perfectly clear A/B comparison with pics and links to back it up) is an entirely different animal, and doesn't need anything remotely interactive in my view (or even fast). I think the evidence of that is very clear in the way the thread converged to a solution within a couple of hours, with the assistance of some knowledgeable forum users who knew where to look in the game UI and/or had come across this precise issue in the past.
