Thargoid have become disinterested (pursuit changes)?

I wasn't active during the end of the war. In fact? I believe I was not active, when the last 2-3 titans to popped.
I used to use a technique(?), where I'd drift backwards and maybe/ maybe not shoot some swarms, while repairing any necessary damages to modules. I noticed, now, in watching the Interceptors they become disinterested if you're drifting too fast and leave. I missed out on the last 1-2 hearts on about 4 interceptors now because they go "awww eff it...he's too far..." Before, they would chase you for at least what seemed like 100=150km. Now they pursue you for 25km and call it a day.

What's everyone doing to refit? Especially if you've sustained some "oops!" cockpit damage? You apparently can't get out of their reach anymore.

I believe this is an unintentional result of their detection ranges getting lowered from... whatever they used to be, to 8 kilometers (that is a precise point I have observed where even Hunters will just magically lose track of a hot target and stop pursuit), presumably for the reason of Titan environment detectability of players (because this began happening directly after a patch which made them less likely to notice players around a Titan). On top of Thargoids there seeming to be especially braindead in locating human ships. Anyway, it is a lot easier to lose them because of that so especially if you run a low emissions plant, they tend to lose accurate location of you at around 3-5 kilometers and stop actively following, doing it at a lower speed until they reach your last rough location and begin circling it.

The best workarounds would be to either stay within that range or run an armored powerplant where your heat during boosting will be enough for the interceptor to keep track more easily. Best to do both. At least this would work for me in AX conflict zones while the Titans were still running around causing carnage, haven't done any fighting since Cocijo's defeat and don't plan to until they come back to the Bubble - but it should still work.

If the big guy 'loses interest' you can always move in slightly to have it reacquire you. Or raise your heat level via silent running and open up the vents again while close enough. Just not so close it will begin to hit you.

Yep... You're right! I now have to micromanage them and keep flipping backwards and forwards to check their distance before I boost and/ or slow drift as needed. It seems like once they cross over 7KM they start to become 'less interested' and will fly upward or some other direction that's not towards me, presumably to begin a plot, and if they hit that 10km+, as you said, they're out for good and even boosting back toward them will do nothing by that point. I mean, I guess it's fair. If someone is trying to flea for their life, especially in a "barely fast enough" ship, they probably don't want to get hunted down for 100KM, as they frantically try to charge up their FSD. I mean, I've been that person too. I sometimes like to use the Python MK1 and it's not fast enough to outrun faster interceptors, but you can still flea if you act quick, to get distance, but inversely it is easy to boost away too fast in a Krait II or Chieftain and lose them for good, depending on the variant.
