I was gonna say this semester has really ramped up for me, time is moving by so quick!
My main desire, even if I don’t think I’m gonna be terribly excited for the new pack, is that they do what they did for ZooKeeper at the very least. Give us a teaser image, let us dissect it pixel by pixel. That was a lot of fun, even if the DLC wasn’t exactly how it turned out it felt good to truly speculate again over just hoping what could come next.
Whether it's this month or next, I'm hoping they take a similar approach with the teaser image as well. Discussion around that last one got super contentious but it was still fun! And most everybody got the theme wrong (though, TBH, I might argue that "celebration" or whatever was close enough--and arguably might fit the pack better given the scenery we go).
I am pretty convinced, though, that if they tease something like that then the pack will be here within a month. I just don't see them teasing something like that and just letting it go for another month without releasing something...
Another option for this month, though, if they don't tease anything about the new DLC: They
could reveal something about the update and say they'll have more info on that DLC in the coming weeks. That's a nice middle ground if we will have to wait until April.
Also can anyone send me the meta wishlist breakdown for ZooKeeper and previous packs? I want to do something and see what those past animals were placed at.
Do you mean where the animals were in the meta wishlist when the packs were released? That might be a struggle but I'm sure
somebody can find that. Haha.
From my recollection, though, ever since Wetlands the packs have leaned heavily into the meta wishlist with the #1 or #2 animal (usually #1 though there's exceptions). Then another 1-2 animals from the top 10, 1-2 more from the top 20-25, and the oddballs.
In the main run of DLCs, Arid was the only one that stands out as a big deviation and even that had the #1 pick (porcupine), a strong top 10 pick (sand cat), and two animals people have been asking for since launch (black rhino, camel). And to this day I remain convinced they thought those four picks were going to drive the entire thing. Barnyard obviously didn't have any meta picks and Zookeeper didn't have any species in the top 3 but had ~2-3 from the top 10 and at least 1-2 more from the top 20. They didn't ignore the wishlist completely but... It didn't drive it the way it used to. Which is suspicious to me, TBH (see also: them letting the devil sit at #1 for two packs because Oceania).
I'm sure somebody can provide better, more concrete data and prove at least some of this wrong but this is my recollection of things and I feel reasonably confident in it. LOL
One thing we'll need to factor in though, as we move into 2025, is that whatever pack is coming next probably wouldn't factor in the 2025 wishlist just yet because it had been in development for a while.
