Elite Dangerous | Trailblazers Release Schedule

I'm quite keen to see the patch notes today. Not only for the colonisation piece, but also to see what bugs have been squished.

Just wondering if it'll be a stand-up fight. I only need to know one ting... where... they... are.

Not joking. I can't get my head around how something in beta sits on a live game. Aren't they mutually exclusive?
No need to be too nitpicky about the terminology being used. Sure, the traditional development cycle is "alpha" (playable but lacks features), "beta" (feature-complete but requires testing) and "release candidate" (should be feature-complete and tested, bar some last-minute bugs that are found), none of which is yet released to the public and is purely internal development ("gold" being the actual release version). Of course then there's the so-called "public beta" where the public is given an opportunity to bug-test a beta version, but this is usually kept separate from an actual official release.

In this case "beta" is used more loosely to mean something like "release version, but still very subject to change according to public testing".

Especially if there isn't any relevant narrative events surrounding colonization, it might as well not exist for me. Sure, there will be players who like it because they enjoy moving cargo around, and all the better for them. But this is all just going to be player controlled stuff to add more BGS and Powerplay systems, that I don't see actually adding anything to the story. Sure, Frontier are somewhat making it part of the lore (...)

I am totally fine with idea that we have a lot of refugees after Thargoid War so we need new places for them. But I am a player who love to create own stories in the Elite.

I think I made the point, anyway. Not all features are for everybody and it's fine to not be interested in one ahead of time. Adding glorified hauling isn't going to make one like hauling when they've already fairly solidly determined on their own it's not for them. Simply putting fuel back on the carrier was already painful enough for me.

I had the same thoughst about PowerPlay 2.0, but still found some nice moments to play. And I think it is fine, as you and other said... not every update is for everyone and that's totally fine.

PP 2.0 was a pvp update, now we have a hauling/industrial update form the bits of info we have. If we get another major system update, hopefully it's an exploration overhaul. Not every update is going to please everyone.

I would say more like update for pilots who likes combats, and competetive play (with players or NPCs). And you wrote exactly what is in my mind. PP2.0 - for combat, Colonisation for transport, so I wonder what will be next and I hope we will know more after today's Frontier Unlocked.

What kind of systems are you looking for? what's your criteria?

More lore-based (and I mean lore of our Exobiology group of players from different squadrons. So... side of the Bubble, and tritrium resources. We would like to build a bridge to Arcadia: https://www.edsm.net/en/system/id/87101071/name/Lyaiso+YW-B+b13-5
Of course, now it is impossible with 10Ly colonisation range, but at least we can make an "entry point" for our Exologic fleet. And tbh BGS and PP doesn't matter so we can even do it with some squadron to help eachother.

Hi Cmdrs .... o7

Can't wait that massive update !
Guess it will bring back a lot of people in the game :)
Hope no-farmer and no-H24er players will be able to colonize a system even playing more casual.
Cheers and see you in Deeeeeeeep Space

By looking at level of excitement and enthusiasm I wonder if there will be something like failed attempt of colonization where a cmdr seeing the amount of work and time decides to abandon the project. Will we be seeing "scafoding" in a a system or simply all player brought assets will be wiped after time of inactivity.
