I spent... This few months doing various thingies, and now that I came here, damn...
This was really sad to read honestly. I hope they at least give us 25 - 30 new full rigged animals with 500 building pieces as a bare minimum, because man, if not, this is depressing as hell

They confirmed today that, yes, they'll have something for PC players next month. What that is is TBD but...
Easter is on the 20th this year which means the DLC would likely be dropping on the 15th which is 1.5 weeks from the likely date of the March Unlocked (Wednesday, March 26th). Which is the same amount of time between the Zookeeper unlocked and release of that pack. So a teaser in the next one feels pretty likely.

Can I just say wow the presenter is horrible doesnt even bother to read out some animal names show any level of enthusiasm or at least have the respect to get the release date right he seemingly gets worse every stream. Like seriously if the best you can possibly do is yes you will gets some animals that will be animals what are you even doing.

Well, I guess it's a good thing I totally forgot there was a stream today. Having a month to go off of now is nice at the least, but I clearly wasn't missing anything if that was the only info I would've gotten from sifting through a bunch of Elite Dangerous talk.
With the amount of time in between recent packs (and my varying feelings on them), it's hard for me to get excited anymore, but that's fine I guess. As much as I still adore this game and enjoy the last few packs a decent enough amount, I haven't been truly hyped for any since Oceania, so everything from then on just feels kind of extra to me these days. I don't wanna set myself up for disappointment by hoping for something really good.
Still, it's a bit difficult not to hope for just a single bird though, even if it is just another flamingo or something. It feels ridiculous to say even though we're seemingly focusing entirely on animal packs, you'd think it'd be obvious to have just one, but then Zookeeper's happened so eh idk anymore. I don't mean to be so negative though, maybe I'll be surprised but I just don't wanna hold my breath.
Never mind I get to see that delightful key art of the kiwi again, everything is perfect and I have no qualms with anything anymore actually.

That community manager really gets my hackles up. He feels like the embodiment of corporate greed: he can’t even pretend to give a **** about Planet Zoo or the players, his entire attitude is “I don’t even care enough to try, and you’ll buy it anyway so I’ll still get paid.”
I miss feeling like the CMs actually cared about, and were excited for, the game and its new features. This guy seems like the type to eat someone else’s work lunch out of the office fridge.

Frontier is a quiet company and keeps to themselves outside of specific community posts. I’m guessing there is a lot going on behind the scenes. I wouldn’t be surprised if the following happened:
- Frontier is all hands on deck to repair PC2
- PZ is still a good money maker, and a new bundle is on the way
- Announce you have news for PZ!
- Wait, the team needs more time, crud. Or it was never actually planned to have more news than the bundle.
- Quickly change the script, or even just provide little information
- Being the face of Frontier Unlocked the poor guy is in the forefront of a bunch of issues, and essentially had to try to pass off the fact he isn’t told anything at all.
Yeah, there has been individual things I have been hyped for (Mute Swan in Eurasia, Chicken and Highland Cow in Barnyard, Baboon and Tortoise in ZooKeeper)
But I agree, it does feel like the last pack I was super hyped for was Oceania. You and I are in similar boats, primarily at this stage of the game we need birds in the roster. Will we get birds? Maybe, maybe not. We may wait half a year to get no birds at all, or get one single bird which may not do much to fix the roster disparity. So it’s kind of hard to get hyped.
To be clear, I'm not judging the man here just the way the information was conveyed in the first place... I think most have the same feelings, not particularly to the person, but to the frontier.
Of course, we can't fully blame him, since he is forcibly assigned to PZ now, but damn, a speedrun to finish as soon as possible? Even if it's a mistake or a quick change of plans, it could have been planned differently then and moved the elite first and then PZ, it doesn't stick to me that the change happened shortly before the transmission... Especially since, however, it is a profitable game? Such spitting in the face of the community... more than 300 people left the transmission after their "successful news" PZ, so...
Sorry, but it bites me, a good income, and such a denialist approach... Communication has always been bad, but for this last year it is a tragedy of tragedies
As I wrote earlier, I hope that next month they will pay more attention to PZ, since there is some news... From hour-long transmissions we got a one-minute speedrun, and that actually hurts me the most... Maybe today is not my day, I don't know...

It's clear Planet Zoo is not Frontier's favorite child any longer and hasn't been for a good year or even two years. But it's a consistent seller. My guess is they were going to stop with Zookeepers, and then PC2's release was rough. They realized income on PC2 was going to be a bit under what they projected, so back to the consistent seller it is.
FWIW I'm still hoping for two more packs, but I guess we'll see what happens when the next pack comes out. Also, we have zero chance of flying birds or marine animals. It would have been amazing but if you're still holding on to that, let it go.

Well, atleast we can now confirm we have news coming next month. I will say with the way the seasons pass and bundles have been selling I wonder if we will see more than just two DLCs this year? I would be very surprised if Frontier decides to revitalize this game.
I was speculating about this since October. Maybe they'll have their Unlocked host give a third disclaimer in the April livestream
and considering planet zoo had over 3500 players active today while pc2 their new favourite child had less than half (1400)
I wouldnt say its a favourite child situation more a sick child who right now has all the parents care and attention even though the older one is still largely their favourite. Right now planet coaster 2 needs the attention its a new game already struggle to hold itself up planet zoo can be outright ignored and mocked and we are still here and strong sure we could use more attention but we are not going to self combust as a community

Like most people, I went into the stream not expecting much for PZ but still somehow managed to leave a little bit disappointed. What put me off was really just the clunky format of the stream. It came across as rushed and disjointed.
I'm not worried about PZ though. The presenter said to come back next month for PZ news. And come back next month I shall !

I don't know how Frontier came to the conclusion that having another wait period as long as the one between Barnyard and Zookeepers would be healthy for the community. I'm just tired at this point, I need something, anything to make me believe that they haven't left Planet Zoo to rot.
