I think I know why everyone's lost their architect status

There was a bug reported approximately 7 hours ago on the subreddit, don't know if it made its way here. TLDR: someone was making stations solo inside of an hour without using a carrier, clearly abusing some kind of bug, glitch, exploit or straight up hack. Whatever it is, it's out of office hours for FDev right now, so they can't fix it properly, but they can hit the emergency cutoff switch, which appears to be what they've done.

It's not a bug, it's not a glitch, it's just a messed up situation. They'll fix it tomorrow when they're awake to fix it.

For those worried if they'll still have their system when it's over: I'd expect so. My station's still telling me in the news feed that I'm the system architect. If you have your own station done already, feel free to check and verify that it still says it for you as well.

Most importantly, don't panic! And don't forget your towel either

Why would I care if someone random players get free stations in a Stellar Forge of millions…?
Because bugs and exploits undermine the integrity and design of any future content built on top of those systems.

"Oh, players can build stations instantly in an hour? Well no harm in upping the build costs by two orders of magnitude."

There's current bugs and exploits that limit many aspects of the game just like this, right now.

Ooh, rollback the live servers, that'll be fun, didn't they say all progress made during the Beta will carry through? There's always bugs, they should be able to isolate it to the individuals taking advantage of the bug and have a serious word with them.
Though this is a Beta it will be on the live version of the game and any actions/progress made will NOT be wiped unless a significant issue is identified.
Source ;)

Significance rating? 8.1 on the Richter scale? ;)

I just finished the station, and it doesn't say it's mine and says system invalid. So whatever the glitch exploiter did has messed up the game for me after hours and hours of material collecting and delivering.

It's temporary. They didn't mess up your system, FDev had to pull the emergency stop because they're all asleep rn.

Yeah, sorry, that's no excuse, they should have banned THAT player and not screwed over the rest of us who is playing the system legitimately.

they also need to prevent it from happening, plus theres no idea how many people got told about it and can do it. simpler to just shut it off overnight and fix it in the morning and boom its all good without 100's of exploited systems

This type of behavior should unquestionably lead to a lifetime ban from all Frontier Developments (FDev) titles. Honest customers do not engage in such actions.

In Elite, any resources associated with the banned account should be removed from the game. Such activities must have serious repercussions to deter others from engaging in similar misconduct in the future.

It's the middle of the night for the devs. We'd have to pay a lot more for ARX - or monthly fees to play the game - if we wanted a whole team standing by 24/7 to address major issues.
The same person who turned off the Colonization system could have just banned the player instead.
