Elite Dangerous | Trailblazers Update 1 - Thursday 6th March

1. Solo Mode is less complicated than other modes, so should guarantee loading into an instance.
2. As a retired UK based IT Specialist (30+ years in the trade) - it should not be "usual after patches for everything to be screwed for a while".
3. After exiting the game via the main menu, the game should not display a "connection lost" error, as it was exited correctly. Hence, why I detailed the issue path / sequence for FDev to look at. ;)

Math can be difficult

Servers just went down.
yes every jump , i will leave game for now i am sure they will sort it soon ,i have 10 years plus with this game they are usually pretty good at sorting , but the forums i will be my last comment and use of forum has when you say anything your warned so i am off forums good luck all

Servers just went down.
Did they, because I appear to be still in the game without an issue.

What I do have as a problem at the moment is that the game gave me a "placement failed" message putting down a planetary port, except there is now two construction sites in the same location when I only put one down. It might be time for that undo button or I go through support if that second location remains through a relog/coming back into the system the next time.

i must admit i do not understand why they did not have a proper beta.
if the argument was they wanted a proper stress test, i am certain if they offered triple arx and a unique ship kit for beta architects that people would have still floked to it.... and it would have meant it would have gone live in a much less distruptive way.

maybe because doing the colonisation thingie takes a lot of effort, and participation numbers might not be as needed, or they might lack passion and investment in a "real" beta where all the progress you make is eventually wiped.

I did not participate in any of the game's betas before - how many participants did it have in those? Do the numbers really reflect the stress test 12k+ concurrent players give?

One of the reasons we launched System Colonisation as a live beta was to test this at scale, which is something very hard to do for us internally. Thanks to your astounding efforts we have received lots of incredibly helpful data and feedback and it has also identified an important issue that needs to be addressed. This issue greatly impacts the ability to claim systems and needs more thorough investigation.

but by giving out arx or skins they would be paying you. sure it would be fewer players than if live but it is disingenuous to suggest it would not be more than if kept in house.

eventually it would have to go live, but i suspect some of the obvious issues which have shown up would have shown up in a beta.

yes you want to play, but am sure you also want a game which works properly......... the oddy launch (which did have a beta and had lots if issues flagged****) was a disaster and even now i think has hurt the reputation of the game for some people.

**** when i suggest they should have had a beta i hope it goes without saying the logical follow up to that is "and fix issues found in the beta not release it anyway"

The thing is even if you got everyone who is doing colonisation now into the beta it wouldn't be the same as the effects of the rest of us on everything else wouldn't be there. Fleet Carriers being stuck for example might not have happened so much.

I am not saying I wouldn't have wanted a standalone beta if it was up to me but I am not as optimistic about things showing up there as you are.

Same issue here

It doesn't make sense to me to test new features in a game that is already broken.
Broken for you, possibly.

I've been having a ball recently, with no issues (bar the constuction bug, sorted today) and perfectly playable in both combat & trucking.

I want to play, not be an unpaid beta tester.
Then don't do any colonisation activities, simples!

I had this one and raised an issue here: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/72899

Also seems to be something odd going on with orbital installations as another commander has raised here: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/72924
