I got past "Continue" to game mode selection then got thrown out. Now at Continue with "can't connect to frontier servers". Damn!!

FDev's definition of planned maintenance is hilarious.
I'm liking the update but you've got to communicate these "planned" outages better.
Even Bungie manages to communicate server outage with in game notifications.

so i havent played since last april, work and life gets too busy, finally had a proper day off to do something chose Elite, didnt know about all the new stuff, so updated. and essentially watched a non responsive screen and game for several hours.
Frontier used to make it a bit clearer what was going on, i finally found a twitter post that said servers were to be down for an hour, i found it about 2.5 hours after it was posted, and not much since, picked up my kids, then i saw - were back give it a few moments.
i get that issues happen and sometimes turning back on is not that simple, but inform the people. i am probably floating somewhere several thousand km from the bubble, and i just wanted to keep the trek back going after nearly a year.
think i chose the absolute worst time to try get back into this.

@Paul_Crowther The mission boards are still not function. Just an endless loop.
Let the man get the servers up first! Still can't get in!
When kicked out I had three completed missions and one mission left to complete. When I got in all four were still listed on the left UI. Took off from the settlement of the last completed mission and when I got into supercruise looked in the left UI and all four missions had been erased with no reaction from the issuing faction that I did not have them anymore. Flew to a space station in the system, docked and shutdown EDO. I am done for the day.
Game servers being down are old news as of 3 minutes ago, now we have to work on finding out everything that was broken with the new maintenance.
I am in. Everything looks good for my history.
Back to work! YEAH!
I was starting to worry that I was going to have to do work all day.
Fdev hamsters can fly so well that they can even carry a large hawk on their backs.
Finally, really in. Tried to go Solo but it was the Fleetcom PG that worked. Was the first to sell stellar data to the UC in my outpost - very emotional moment for me.
Mission board is up but empty, Commodity market has goods (Hi Tech). Contacts all present except for System Colonisation.
Going to the Concourse now.
