Distant Worlds 3 - Organizers progress so far, upcoming events, and an early roadmap for the year ahead...

Just tried to join Fleetcom from my pad and got the following, I will try to remember to have a go from my PC

Links are valid, though. Weird. Send me a friend request on discord and I'll sort you out. Same name and avatar as here.
It was a me problem, it has been so long (years) since I used Discord that my account was out of date, a bit of a struggle pretending to be human, coming up with new password and verifying that it was me trying to login and the link worked fine.

Thanks for the offer anyway.

Glad it worked out!

So happy for this. I started ED after I heard about DW2 starting. Cranked out an Asp Explorer and rushed to catch up. Never got organized enough to register and get the patch, but I completed all the stops and survived (barely). Second best experience I have had playing 40 years of video games. Quit ED when they stopped supporting Playstation, but DW3 motivated me to figure out how to run ED on my M1 MacBook Air. Its a little janky and the graphics are not so hot, but your plan is the bomb. Just need to relearn how to fly! Can anyone explain why when I'm on foot it uses my console controller, but to fly it reverts to my keyboard and mouse?

On foot and flying use different keybinds. You can probably use either controller in either situation if you set it up in the control options.

Ok then! It's time for me to begin my return to the Bubble; that will take a while. It's times like this a wormhole or two would be welcome.

Depending on where you are, there might be a fleet carrier going to the bubble near you. These services have become somewhat common by now.

Worst case, you can dump your findings at a DSSA carrier and then suicide back to the bubble. You'll lose the carrier percentage of your income, the cost of your ship and any engineering you spent on your ship. Given the current bio payouts, the last will likely hurt the most.

Then again, once you are at the Neutron Fields, you can make very good speed if you manage to ignore all those shiny distractions.

3 different racing events planned, each will be ship specific
About those racing events - any hints about the rules so far? I.e., will those racing ships benefit from engineered FSDs or are the races supposed to take place in the close vincinity of the start/end points?

Background: how many Titan Drive Components will I need to gather?

I'm pretty sure they're all supposed to be ground based races.

They're planetary surface events, no need to engineer FSDs for them. (y)
