Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Hi All :)

I finally got my Coriolis station up to 60% finished yesterday, I just need some more Aluminium, Titanium & Steel.
Can't face anymore trucking today so I'm giving it a rest! 🤪... definitely approaching burn out 🔥
Really tempted to make use of the 'System Colonisation assistance Megathread'
In fact I will, though I don't suppose anyone will contribute.....still, you never know. :D

Jack :)

Hmmmm....

It looks like a Chinese knock-off of the Battlestar Viper.
It's a human spaceship from the british TV Series UFO (1970 - 71). These were built to battle invading UFOs. The potrusion at the front is the ship's main weapon, a single dumbfire rocket.
That's true. Try telling my OCD that.
A multipurpose build is the Jack of all trades in spaceships. It can do many things, but none of them really good.

I guess there's some major rewiring in order...
Maybe, if you feel unable to leave empty module slots, try fitting cargo racks. As long as you don't fill them with cargo, they don't add any weight.
And for weapons use size 1 fixed beam lasers with light weight engineering and stripped down experimental. Might not be useful for anything but waking up an ancient guardian beacon, though.

Thanks. That's show's name is familiar to me but I don't think I've ever seen it. I've been on a 70's crime thriller kick watching films like Mean Streets so maybe I can slot it in.

The beam thing probably wouldn't work for me but the cargo rack thing is an interesting idea. Maybe I can trick my OCD into thinking it has a complete ship.

Well the definition of a "complete" ship depends on the role you want to use it for.

"Multipurpose" isn't really a role, though. It's more a design concept for ship manufacturers. And even those "multipurpose" designs are usually at best average if fitted out for a specific role. If you try to build a ship with a "multipurpose" role in mind, you most likely end up with a ship that is below average in all aspects, as you have to make compromises at every corner.
