Elite Dangerous | System Colonisation Claims Unpaused

I suggested staking.
Staking claims would be dope. But i feel like that would have its draw backs like if 3 people with multi billions stake multiple claims.

Do conflict zones are turned off? I've arrived on one of that system (colonized), but no ships appeared on CZ (on low, med and high).

I suggested staking.

I've also considered various issues with the current system and thought of ways to address which wouldn't be too "overpowered" and would still solve many problems like sniping, abandoned systems and lack of range.

To all those worried about sniping. There's 400 billion star systems in the ED galaxy. As time goes on, it'll get to a point where the claim chains branch out so much that no one will have the time nor resources to "nab that lovely system you just spotted".

There's no FOMO here. Just bide your time!

System sniping....you build initial structure for a colony to get another system in range and someone can lie in wait for your station to complete and having an advantage to getting it first since you have to leave the colonization ship first to get to your new station to claim. It has been suggested, here and on Youtube, that a new station in a new system should grant a small exclusivity period for the builder to use it first....anywhere from 5 min to an hour.

I wanted to see if Fdev had any plans of addressing that.
this problems could be easily avoided if we had 50-100ly range for colonisation - no daisy building. or limit it to only 1 system for 1 architect allowed, period.

It's almost 3 hours now and most systems don't have the colonization contact turned on. That's a bit long, isn't it?
I believe FDev only turned on some systems to see if their fix worked. The rest of us will have to wait until FDev decides if the fixes worked or not.
I got the message 1 minute after it was posted. I've been logging in and out for hours and still don't have access.

Getting just a wee bit tiresome.

Yeah, I am done with colonization.

I spent days looking for a system, claimed it and then the colony ship never showed up even though I was listed as the architect, spent hours trying to get it to show up, hours with support only to have them tell me they have nothing to do with colonization and that I was just -outa-luck, and then had the claim disappear 3 days later when they pushed out the March 6th update.

I just spent 2.5 hours relogging every 3 minutes trying to get a claim on the system with a greyed out system contact.

I am not spending another second with this crap.

ya not sure if this here matters but trying to hunt down a system where i am cuz someone is claiming around me. But i would like them to hurry up and turn on ALL the contacts so we can get this going.

It becomes a problem if you're trying to reach a system that only has a limited number of other systems in range (like high or low below the galactic plane). If there's only one route to where you're chaining to, there's nothing stopping a sniper dropping an Orbis in your path and your chain essentially grinds to a halt.

There needs to be a grace period, even it its just one hour, for the architect to have exclusive use over the facilities of a station they themselves built.

To some extent, sure...

However, given how little of those 400 Billion we've even visited, let alone colonized.....premium systems closer to the current centers of human civilizations are a bit of a FOMO proposition.

What if (probably) whoever took this system also spent days searching until he/she found this same particular one as well?
We'll never know, will we? It's irrelevant now anyway. But had I known beforehand that colonization would open at a particular time, and still lost the system, at least it would have been a fair fight. Congratz to whomever got the system, though.
