Elite Dangerous | System Colonisation Claims Unpaused

Greetings Comanders,
Does anyone of You got problem with planet disappearance? I was trying to colonise a new system but the planet where the outpost should appear is not there anymore :(
Thank you for help in advance o7
just use FSS to find this planet again. happened to me once when I was afk traveling and crashed a cutter into some rocky planet. Thought I destroyed that planet along with the cutter lol

Did they disable the colonization contact in some systems? I mean it was there until a while ago, grayed out, now it's completely missing!

I also don't understand the complaints about sniping systems. Nobody is entitled to any system. Its a first come, first served system.

If you are daisy chaining, you are the person in the best position to know when your system will be finished and get there to claim the next, but yes, someone could come and finish your system while you're offline and then claim the one you are aiming for. Well, that's your choice.

FD could resolve this easily, and remove the need for people to spam single outpost systems, by removing the limit and let people just build where they want to.

At that point, a system i want to colonize would immediately become available. It is theoretically possible, someone would grab it before me, and of course, i'll be a tad sad about that, but there are so many systems, ultimately, i'll find one even better.

Can confirm I'm 38 lys from my built system and the contact is active? And its a different minor faction.,. Is this the change Paul was speaking of?? I'm in 1 Hydrae- Keplar's Inheritance, She's active there. Don't know about this, I mean its out of range from my system.

I'm wondering about, do it'll be possible with hostile takeover of someone colonized system (also within range of faction, which captured a owner system, which started faction was been opposite) and due to it, change system ownership to system conqueror (another CMDR, which do most efforts to conquer system)?
…No? Well maybe only to the ones you own…

I'd love it if that were true. The second you complete the bridge system, you have to go through the Brewer completion screen, get off the colony ship, get to your new station, dock and claim the system you want. The sniper just gets to wait for completion, land on your station and claim the desired system. I might even go for an even chance to get the system I put in the work to get to but....

If you could colonize anywhere, I'd agree. Not sure I like that solution either...or...if there were a cost premium based on distance? Maybe :)

Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay,
My, oh, my, what a wonderful day!

EDIT: I take it back. NOT A WONDERFUL DAY.
FDev has opened a few systems to do more testing on. After waiting 3 hours for the Colonization contact to become available I'm done.
At least I'll be able to sell all the mats I collected in preparation for my system.
Goodbye.
He did say "preparing to". I'd have waited until he said "we have done it".

How would this work within the BGS framework?

The best way to handle "system sniping" via piggy-backing others' "chains" is you simply apply an x hours time limit on system completion wherein only the architect of the completed system can use the colonisation contact, or optionally open it up to be used by anyone if they desire.

This is the best suggestion so far.
It isn't, imo. The best one I saw so far is the one already suggested a few times; only the system architect can use the colony contact for the first x hours after a system is initially completed, with the option for the architect to open it up for others to use if they desire, in that same time frame.

The reason the "build where you want" option isn't suitable is because the systems need to be within the BGS framework in order to function. That is based on the standard 20 LY range (I'd personally allow us to claim within 20LY but it's not my game so...)

Allowing us to build willy-nilly with nary a care for where would result in a huge... huge volume of useless, broken systems, scattered all over the galaxy.

Sorry if anyone has already put this but it appears that it won't work from an outpost went to two coriolis in range and it was available all outposts in the other three were not maybe that's it 😅

SELECT contacts where name is "System Colonisation" and status = "Disabled"

rows returned....A BAZILLION....

FD..."oh crap"

This is insanity they should have just restarted the servers and turn on all the contacts i see people claims systems but i have no idea where from. Dropped the ball so hard guys.

I was responding to "Allowing us to build willy-nilly with nary a care for where would result in a huge... huge volume of useless, broken systems, scattered all over the galaxy."

Went to a nearby Coriolis however the contact is still off.
Also it defeats the scope to expand to other systems.
