Elite Dangerous | System Colonisation Claims Unpaused

And yes, fleet carriers are still jumping more than 15 mins :(

Contact in my station was disabled
I spent 5K ARX to remane my station
Contact enabled

Nicely done FDev. I too support ARX in exchange for colonization
Instead of 25M in game credits. 5000 ARX to claim system

I managed to get my 3rd-choice system but had to go to a different station than I had planned to claim it. Seems that stations that previously showed up in inara’s search for Nearest/System Colonisation service aren’t all there today, and that seems to align with stations where the contact is enabled or still disabled. I had good luck finding working colonisation contacts by searching again today on inara.

The cost is already there, distance. Each jump of a FC... or time cost if you're going back and forth in a ship, is costing you.

It won't be easy colonizing a system thousands of LY from the bubble, the further it is, the higher the cost in terms of time or tritium, so no extra cost in terms of colonization beacon required.
I knew that I would not be able to reach any of my first discovereds. So, I just took what I could get near my current home port. Even relatively close to item sources, the trucking is a drag. I think I'll just work on my unremarkable system.

I mean I guess yeah there’s nothing functionally wrong with it, but it’s a shame that there are probably halfway decent systems that someone could actually colonize and build up into something cool that will stay single outposts forever since the original claimant was only using it as a bridge. It would be nice if people could (voluntarily!) renounce systems they don’t intend to develop further so someone else could pick it up and do something with it - seems like a win win.

Edit: also didn’t read the whole conversation leading up to this so am just thinking about outpost chains and their destinies.
I think the idea of being able to relinquish the architect role if you never wish to do anything with a system is a fine idea. I'd kinda apply some sort of automatic relinquish system as well, in the scenario an architect does nothing to a system for a long period of time (beyond the initial outpost - so even starting a new build would cancel this auto process indefinitely). So long as this is accompanied with a warning for the architect, I think this would be good.

But yeh, the topic was about people thinking sniping needs to be fixed by allowing us to claim anywhere in the galaxy and I don't think that is even remotely the best solution (it's also one that I don't think the game can support, because BGS fails entirely with a system that's on its own in the middle of nowhere). The solution to that is to lock expansion from a colony up to x hours after initial completion, to just the architect themselves.

I am now officially building an asteroid base in Col 285 Sector QM-F B26-6 at this beautiful spot. Try using the free rename for your station then logging to desktop. This worked for me. I beat the sniper who even parked their carrier in the system I was bridging to! Best of luck to everybody!

Has anyone seen a station colonization agent in a system that you plan on expanding out of disappear? The station I was in had a grayed out agent, then when I logged back in, they were gone.
