Just completed the medical facility today, but it looks a bit funny, and I cant enter the settlement now :) .
Probably it would be in the correct place next Thursday.

Is it intended by FDev that the BGS tick for conflicts is at best guess every other day now? Or is it a side effect of overloaded servers?

It's hugely frustrating putting effort into winning conflicts and seeing no outcome for that day.
 
Anyone know if these messed up sliders get fixed on their own? This is a system i made in the first week of colonisation, my others are the same

For the same reason that military vehicles, planes and equipment are all more expensive than their civilian consumer equivalents. They're all hardened to survive wartime & conflict conditions.
So I did a little math and there is a path to cheaper security, but not with any docking platforms. I'm not in agreement about our RL analogy. Rate of return on R&D is typically 5-25% per dollar invested.

Here is some math on the costs per pip.

T1

T1 Comms Installation (Pistis, Soter, Aletheia) Security +1 High Tech +3 Commodities Cost 6,721

That is a cost of 2,240 commodities per pip of High Tech and 6721 per pip of Security.

T1 Orbital Outpost Scientific (Prometheus) +3 High Tech Commodities Cost 18,988

That is a cost of 6,329 commodities per pip of High Tech

T1 Orbital Outpost Military (Nemesis) +2 Security Commodities Cost 18,988

That is a cost of 9,494 commodities per pip of Security

T2

T2 Orbital Installation Medical Station (Asclepius, Eupraxia) +3 High Tech +5 Standard of Living 10,081

That is a cost of 3,360 commodities per pip of High Tech and only 2,016 per pip of Standard of Living

T2 Orbital installation Security station (Dicaeosyne, Poena, Eunomia, Nomos) +8 Security (but requires a Relay Station + 1 Security 6,721 Commodities Cost) +3 Standard of Living, For a commodities cost of 10,082 (Total of 16,803).

That is a cost of 1867 per pip of Security. and 5,601 per pip of Standard of Living.

So to secure your system it looks like Relay station -> Security Station is the optimum path.

never came to my mind to look at it in that way - I clearly have to re-consider some system-layouts.... THX mate
 
I’ve build the scientific outpost and it’s now fully operational but the system map shows it to have vista genomics but there’s no vista when disembarked. Is this a bug?
 
Why do Tier 3 Points exist? Why doesn't a Tier 3 facility simply cost 12 Tier 2 Points?

As a solo player I don't want Tier 3 Points. I am not going to build a Tier 3 facility. Yet here I got all these points!

I have 8 Tier 3 Points... soon to have more. I want to cash in my Tier 3 Points so I can build more manageable Tier 2 facilities.

Every time you add a facility to the asteroid belt is it actually adding a slot to your system?

My Coriolis added an extra slot to the system when the UI placed it in the asteroid belt. Can I just keep adding facilities? IMO this is an exploit that I would think Frontier would be interested in fixing.

Seems to be a consequence of having a negative (or at least very low) security rating for the system. Building some more +security (if you don't want them to be that way...) should help.
 

System Claim unsuccessful,I'm trying to colonize a system which shows as green, right next to the system I'm currently docked on. I follow all the steps to setup a starport and press claim system for 25 million. After a few seconds of "processing", it constantly reports claim unsuccessful.And the star chart shows that the local construction space is 0.I really want to claim this system to play with my friends,very sad QAQ​

 
Yes it’s past the server tick and all my scientific outposts have no vista
That's been happening. Is the landing pad still showing "Under Deployment" when you land? A lucky few get it the first week but many of us(including me) didn't get it until the second week.
 
Hi.

How long does it take for a system that has not completed the colonization process (time expired) to become colonizable again? Is it immediately or does it take some time before it can be claimed again? And if a cmdr gives up that system colonization and cancel it just after deploying colonization beacon, how long does it take to become available to other cmdrs?

Reporting an issue:
System Colonization Ship stopped offering Landing privileges.
Was working at one time but has since stopped.
Can still request and get it but not being advertised anymore.
It's the hint I use to request docking.
