I haven't read this, but I assume it might be hilarious. From Thrustmaster:
Elite Dangerous vs Star Citizen: Which One to Choose as a Beginner?
Its not bad, but its a bit ... erm... strange in places, and glossing over some stuff with SC.
At the start:
Star Citizen, although still in its alpha phase, promises an unprecedented immersive experience.
Promises are easy, delivery is hard.
On the topic of SC's gameplay
On-foot planetary exploration and the use of various ground vehicles.
Umm.... what exploration really? ED has on-foot planetary exploration and the use of various (well, 2) ground vehicles, but they don't mention that.
Overall, a lot of simplification means they seem to weight them somewhat equally, rather than showing the massive gap between the games in terms of gameplay.
Oh yeah, also about SC
Participation in dynamic, sometimes scripted missions.
What dynamic missions? The same procgen style missions we get in ED, but less variety?
SC again...
Each ship has its own handling characteristics and interactions with the environment. Combat is more engaging than in Elite Dangerous, offering impressive tactical depth:
Ummm... so do ships in ED. And more engaging in SC, impressive tactical depth? Well, that's certainly a bold claim.
Due to its complexity and deep mechanics, Star Citizen is better suited for players willing to commit to longer sessions.
Those train rides and constant bugs do slow down gameplay.
Final words:
Ultimately, there is no clear winner.
No mention of SC's ship store, no mention of the terrible state of it, apart from a couple of references to stability/alpha. Putting it on a par with ED, which is laughable.
And...
Star Citizen, on the other hand, is a continuously evolving sandbox, enriched by regular updates that introduce new activities
